To me that just shows a character aging.
Seems like this could use a rebootquel. Take 1980s Luke Skywalker/Jean-Luc Picard/Venkman/whoever and pair with the late-2010s sequel version. Maybe with two other pictures of their respective actors at the time to show it's not old-age makeup.
Then how about Han Solo ?
Brainfart, got distracted by my thoughts. While they still apply to your suggestion, ~Stalker Gamer, we do have a thread for single-image suggestions here. Please post there instead.

This is what I was envisioning:
I liked the idea, but I would choose a open image of Han Solo so the clothes (and thus, the sign that the two are the same character) gets a bit more focus.
oh hey how are you doing?I like that one
With the pic in 3:
Yes, I think that's better.

8's good.
I don't easily get which of the four shots refers to what. Why even need four panels?
Top two of of the character (made explicate by Costume Inertia), bottom two are of the actor. The suggestion will have a caption clarifying, I'm sure.
There is a caption suggestion in 5.
The reason I thought it necessary to include pictures of the actor not in the role is to make explicit that it's not old-man makeup or CGI.

The costume connection is subtle. Indy with the hat would work better.
I don't know. I feel like with Han makes it easier to tell this trope is in affect rather than Indy would.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI don't actually know if the hat would an improvement, because the white hair really makes him look old. Maybe if we actually get something from Indiana Jones 5 besides set pics, but between Indys 1 and 4 the aging isn't as dramatically different as it is between the Star Wars films.

22 works best because of the clearly fictional Star Trek costumes.
22 is slightly better
My suggestion is from Boyhood with the main character of the film in the image. Who watched the film knows that the cast grows up as the film goes on.
