bump. how's the sandbox going?
where is the sandbox?
There isn't really one yet, I think, because trying to define "flat villain" in a way that doesn't invite complaining is something that is, if not impossible, very difficult. I predict that is why the thread has stalled.
One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord.Crazy said there was one, but it's not been linked.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI think it's here
Macron's notesAny more feedback regarding the sandbox? I personally think it looks fine.
Macron's notesMight as well go ahead and move it to get the thread moving again, since nobody raised any objections.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Swapped in the description. I guess what's next is cleaning the on page examples and wicks
Macron's notesI think "Flat Destructive Villain" would work well. This is literally the definition of the trope condensed into three words - a *Flat* character who is a *Villain* shows up and is *Destructive*. Literal, precise, and simple titles have a history of working pretty well on this wiki. If we get into figurative stuff like "force of nature" or "mindless" I think we run the risk of fire elementals or hurricanes or whatever.
There is a risk of "Flat" being interpreted as "Badly written/underdeveloped". Maybe you guys can think of a better word for that, I've looked around in thesauruses and have not come up with something better. It seems at least adequate, though.
So, what's next after the description swap? Do we have to clean the wicks? If so, what should we be looking for?
Macron's notesI think yes, though I'm unsure exactly what we'll be searching for, sorry.
Bumping for more input
Macron's notesProbably only cleanup using the first sentence of the new description as the key. Similar to new Hate Sink, the examples may be contradicting other tropes on a character or inside context, so it'd be a bit more difficult than usual.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupImo, Tropes Are Tools are in effect with the name. Being generic isn't bad as long as the character itself is entertaining. Aimless Villain, Villain With No Motive, or Flat Villain are good replacements, but if we are sticking true to the trope in question, Villain Defined By Power also works.
Umbrla crp rlsbumping. is there enough consensus to close the thread?
Uh.... no? We still need to decide if we can swap the sandbox and stuff, I think?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI think the sandbox was already swapped. Now it's just cleaning up, right?
Here there be cats.I think so, but I admit that I lost track of this thread due to how long it's been on TRS combined with how little activity it's had after the discussion phase.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Probably because people, including me, are confused on just what Generic Doomsday Villain is now.
One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord.I'm tempted to just clock the thread since the sandbox was already swapped in. Any objections?

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. No objections. I asked if cleanup was necessary a couple of months but I didn't get a clear answer if I am reading things right.

Macron's notesI'll just go ahead and get the stopwatch out since it's a bad sign when a starred thread hits an impasse because nobody knows how to clean it up.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Considering what Macron said about going a couple of months with no answer, I think I'll just close this a day early.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
