They have already gone through one, the key difference is that only mods can only make them for now. Write the options (Not sure which at this point, rename or not to rename?) and holler the post.

The only option would be whether to rename, so it would be a Single Proposition crowner. If there's enough consensus to rename, we'd run an Alternative Titles crowner. If the rename option lacks consensus, we'd move the page and wicks back and presumably close the thread.
Anyway, to give my own $0.02, I don't see anything wrong with the current situation. As was previously said, we'd keep Weird Al Effect as a redirect to Parody Displacement if we kept things the way they are now, so links to the page wouldn't break.

Yeah, all we'd need is a single-prop. But tbh, with the crowner overhaul and how much consensus we already have, I'm not personally sure it's necessary.

Not to my taste, but that can be an option if we decide to do a crowner for that as well. The current "decision" settled on Parody Displacement, and I'd personally keep it.

Wouldn't Vindicated By Parody be covered by either Colbert Bump or Newbie Boom? Weird Al Effect/Parody Displacement is about the parody becoming more well known than the original; whether it causes people who hear the parody to seek out the original isn't part of the definition.
Edit: Also, I noticed that the trope name was misspelled as Weird AI Effect in the crowner, which is why the link is red. (Maybe it could go on Lousy Alternate Titles as another name for A.I. Is a Crapshoot.)
Edit: I accidentally typed "people to hear the parody" instead of "people who hear the parody" because I had been up for hours when I originally posted this. I fixed the typo now that I've slept.

In addition to Parody Displacement and Parodied Up (the latter of which mirrors Sampled Up), I thought of Overshadowed By Parody recently.
As for the page being moved to Parody Displacement already, that was before it was decided to redo the vote.

Does this trope apply to the original work or to the parody? If the latter, something like More Famous Parody might work (compare More Popular Spin-Off)
