Character-Specific Pages (CSPs) are created when individual characters have so many trope examples that they can't reasonably be included on a shared page.
The Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy details the rules that apply to these pages. All Character-Specific Pages must also follow the basic How to Create a Character Page policy, as well as the wiki's more general policies about spoilers and examples.
This cleanup thread handles the following tasks:
- Reviewing and approving new CSP proposals. All new potential CSPs must be reviewed and, if necessary, cleaned up before they're created.
- Agreeing on page names for new CSPs.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a new CSP is created.
- Reviewing existing CSPs if there's a concern that they need cleanup, or if it's believed that the character may no longer qualify for a page.
- Merging existing CSPs into other character pages when necessary.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a CSP is removed/merged.
- Creating, updating and cutting redirects, as necessary, to reflect these splits and merges.
Crowners are not normally required but, where appropriate, can be used to formalise decisions on any of these points.
If a character no longer qualifies for a CSP, it's often more practical to turn the CSP into a redirect than to cut the page entirely. This keeps the page history visible to users, and also helps to steer offsite 'inbound' traffic (search engine results) to the right place. With that in mind, cut requests for CSPs may be declined and referred to this thread if they don't have a clear consensus.
Comments linking back to this thread can be added to CSPs when needed - e.g. to confirm their creation was approved, to warn tropers that a cleanup is in progress, or to note the date and outcome of a more recent review.

- Other options must have been tried first, like splitting pages into further groups.
- The character's folder is cleaned up beforehand, fixing any Zero-Context Examples and Wall of Text entries and removing any outdated, misused, or non-character tropes.
- A character's folder is at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces). Here is a byte counter.note
- The current character page bypasses technical limitations and requires a split up.
- A single character takes up the majority of a page or is disproportionately bigger than other folders.
Splitting a character into their own page is a major change and needs to be run by the community before it is enacted. Even if you believe a character meets these requirements, they should be run through this thread first. Having other tropers take a look can help spot issues you may not notice or believe to be issues.
Per How to Create a Character Page, character-specific pages should only include tropes that describe the character. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask the Are these Character Tropes? thread.
If you have concerns with a general character page, they have their own separate cleanup thread, as do the self-demonstrating character pages.

I take it that Ms. Von Hresvelg has had... Issues in the past regarding this? And judging by your wording I take it that issue is a ton of shoehorns?
Speaking of which, how can one tell if a trope is shoehorned? I've done a fair bit of adding to the recently unspoiled Luz Noceda, and I only did tropes I felt were true to her character with lots of context, and I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right.

The issue is her page being at Locked pages, making the split slightly complicated since the nav template had to be updated.
Yes, it was locked for shoehorned examples. Shoehorned means "the content of the work doesn't explicitly match the trope definition", and it's very bad when tropers try to "guess" if the trope applies.

Given how Three Houses has been mentioned in the previous post, I've decided to do some byte checking out of curiosity, and I've wound up with some interesting results...
- Shez — 64,913 bytes
- Hubert — 53,734 bytes
- Ferdinand — 54,028 bytes
- Bernadetta — 43,424 bytes
- Sylvain — 45,585 bytes
- Ingrid — 42,691 bytes
- Felix — 68,550 bytes
Funny how no one from the Golden Deer faction exceeds 40k bytes, but there you go. That said, I could at least see Hubert getting his own page as he is the most important member of the Black Eagles aside from Edelgard herself, but I would assert that the best time to make a page for any of them is if the pages for each faction ends up being too difficult and/or large to edit in.
That, and we'd probably need to check some unnecessarily large texts per trope if there is any.

I'm not too well versed with deleting character pages or creating them so I'll ask here: The byte count for Jo Jos Bizarre Adventure Jean Pierre Polnareff is under 40k, including the bio part. Is he worth adding back to the main character page? Or is he good to stay there since his tropes seem to be split with Parts 3 & 5.

@Crimson Shark: Looking at Fire Emblem: Three Houses – Other Main Characters without Shez, Sothis has 35,178 bytes, while Arval has 17,993 bytes. I don't think splitting Shez off is necessarily needed.

Sothis and Arvaal's byte estimate combined maxes out to 53,171 bytes. If I recall, if a page has to be split for a Character-Specific Page, the original page must be around 40k bytes.
Furthermore, I wouldn't have added Shez into the list had it not been for that information. That said, I do apologize for not mentioning and making that clear the first time around.

So I have spent the last two days going through some character pages that are ridiculously long and shortening them and just wanted to give a little update. The Owl House - Emperor Belos had a lot of Episode Specific moments removed and is now slightly less than 200,000 bytes. My Hero Academia - All For One has had all of his most egregiously long tropes shortened and now his page is actually bearable to read through. Furthermore, I decided to go through Dragon Ball: Son Goku and Dragon Ball: Vegeta to see where Episode/Chapter Specific moments, non-character tropes, misuse, and overly long walls of text were. Dragon Ball: Vegeta with all of his subpages combined including his intro page equals 313,163 bytes, which is barely below the limit of when the Too Long warning message appears, which is around 325k - 330k bytes. Dragon Ball: Son Goku without his 6,000 byte intro and the same character index information at the top of each of his sub-pages is around 344,579 bytes, which is still above the Too Long limit but not by that much compared to before. I do not know if efforts need to be made to try and get them merged back together, but having them not be entire indexes in and of themselves could make them easier to manage against misuse, and make them less intimidating for readers.

Even if Vegeta's total byte size combined comes off not generating a "Too Long" warning, I would insist on keeping his trope examples listed through pages instead of sheets. The reason is that from my experience, trying to edit already long pages (as in those exceeding 180k-200k bytes) is a tedious and frustrating experience to go through as the "edit page" section freezes up anytime you write something and the freezing time's length depends on how much you've written.
Feel free to disagree, but my choice is largely based on experience and I can only imagine trying to edit on a 300k+ byte long page being a laborious chore to go through.
There is an Option C to further cut down Vegeta's (and Goku's for that matter) byte size, but I'd have to hear a consensus out of that before a decision can be decided upon.
On a positive note, good job on trimming down Belos and All For One's size.

With Mother Miranda now back in the main Village character page, that left me wondering: why not group her and the Four Houses into one page, titled "Cult of the Black God"? It kinda feels weird to have a page for the major villains without having their own leader and game's Big Bad out.

Took longer than expected due to RL shenanigans, but I've finally sorted through Mother Miranda's page here
. Lots of plot tropes on that page, so it's been reduced to 28K bytes and should be merged back into Village's main character page. ETA: She needs a quality upgrade to her photo as well, due to the white line artifact using night vision, but I think I can take care of that too.
