Needs Help: Halloween Costume Characterization

I didn't get this one.

I think I get it but it's not really good.

I get it because I've seen this movie a lot of times, but Jimmy's outfit isn't really registerable as a costume at first.

Maybe a shot of him, the other kids and the protagonist girl to give it more context that it's during Halloween would be better?

From the examples, how about the costumes for the Scooby-Doo gang on the movie SCOOB!? 1◊ and 2◊ and 3◊

Any image would have to show both “costume” and “characterization”. The former is not obvious in the OP; took me a while to catch the devil horns. are not strong in characterization, but I could live with the first one since you see glimmers of their personalities in the body languages (Velma is serious, Shaggy is wacky, etc).

If we're going to go with captions to establish their personalities, I prefer the Mystery Machine as it looks a lot less cluttered.

(Still workshopping that caption but you get the point.)

(but I'm biased ) For a caption, maybe "From left to right: The Smart One, Comic Relief, his Team Pet Sidekick, the Action Girl Heart, and The Leader."

Or The Chick for Daphne, I haven't really seen the movie and am assuming she takes after the Sarah Michelle Gellar kung fu version.

13's in and tagged. I like the caption in 16, with Daphne as The Chick which is how she's listed in the Characters page for the film.

I'd personally go with "From left to right: The Smart One, the comic relief, the Team Pet, The Chick, and The Leader."

(Comic Relief is a disambiguation, unfortunately.)

Edit: Would it be worthwhile to add a note about what the costumes are? Daphne as Wonder Woman and Fred as a generic knight are easy, but Velma as Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Shaggy and Scooby as superheroes Blue Falcon and Dinomutt might not be.
