Does the description need a rewrite?

To reflect its new status as IUEO, maybe.

Yeah, currently it's not at all clear that the trope is not an Audience Reaction.

I think it should be rewritten to clarify that it's an in-universe reaction.

Okay, moved the page to Sandbox.Unfortunate Names. I trimmed the beginning to start and will start looking through on-page examples (including the subpages). I doubt we are keeping the image as it's not in-universe; should the quote be dropped as well (it's a real person who is noting the unfortunateness of his own name)?

Real Life and In-Universe can intersect. So, I'm fine with keeping the quote.

The image is not illustrative enough, meanwhile.

I've been going through the subpages and am on Live-Action TV.

Welp, just realized that the trope is also NRLEP. That means the quote has to go.

Subpage cleaning report: sent Music, Pro Wrestling, and Tabletop Games to the cutlist for being full of audience reaction (and in the former two, to real people's real or stage names). Currently on the Video Game subpage.

The image issue is now resolved.

As for quotes, I'll have to check the quotes page for a replacement.

I'm done hosing down the subpages.

Description needs to indicate it's in-universe examples only and wicks need to be cleaned.

Took down the Stephen Colbert video example, as it violates NRLEP (he's talking about names of actual people).

I just found that the Video Games subpage has too few examples to deserve a whole subpage, and that's probably because of the cleanup that just happened. Should I cutlist the page and put the remaining examples on the main page?

(edit) some of the other pages are also really short, namely Anime And Manga, Film and Theatre.

Why fold them back into Main? Can we not just leave it, since it's easier?

But yes, Video Games has only ~6 examples. Very short.

Cutlisted the subpages. We can always reinstate them if the folders long enough, but I doubt that's gonna happen anytime soon.

I cleaned out a few wicks and cut a needless redirect.

We have 2943 wicks, with 714 on them from the singular redirect. There's another redirect, but it doesn't have wicks.

I didn't tweak a lot on Sandbox.Unfortunate Names, mostly just emphasized in-universe-ness and removed the individual examples per line (some of them were real people, others I didn't know if the unfortunateness was acknowledged by the work). Does it need more major revisions?

I think it looks good. Also, just cleaned up the wicks for the singular redirect from Q- onwards.

Well, this is over 2500 wicks. And reports say the cleaning isn't done, but how much not cleaned, and how many examples do we think there are?

Someone had brought it down by ~200 since Berrenta last counted.
