To list or not to list: Unfortunate Implications (among other opinion tropes) on YMMV subpage for an obscure yet popular fanfic

Howdy, y'all. Long-time reader, occasional troper here. Sorry if my post doesn't belong here, by the way; it's my first time posting 'round these parts and I couldn't find anything close to what I was looking for after searching several forums.

I'm currently drafting up a works page for Quietus, a Naruto fanfic which I believe has never even been mentioned anywhere on this site. This fanfic also has an unusually large fanbase that, as far as I'm capable of observing, does not seem aware of or interested in TV Tropes: I've never once seen any of them use Troper vocabulary, and it strikes me as odd that any Tropers in their midst wouldn't have already made a page given how...ardently devoted the fans are to the story in question. Seriously, I've seen lesser-known fanfics with smaller readerships gain a works page in less time. But I digress.

Anyway, I want to know if it's safe for me to post my personal reactions to this fanfic on the YMMV subpage. I ask not only because Quietus seems to have no presence among Tropers, but also because I actually kind of loathe it. Over the years I've spotted a number of thematic issues in the text ranging from insensitive but low-key (But Not Too Black, Queer People Are Funny) to straight-up insensitive (Stalking is Love, Depraved Homosexual, Magical Romani) to nausea-inducing (Dude, She's Like in a Coma, Disproportionate Retribution, All Gays Are Pedophiles); however, from what I've seen, the majority of the readers don't notice these bugbears or at least don't seem to care, and there's essentially no discussion anywhere on the fanfic's many, many Unfortunate Implications. I also have semi-personal confirmation that the author is resistant to reader efforts to highlight the more questionable moments in their work. Combined with the apparent apathy the fans have toward TV Tropes, I fear I will be the only contributor to the works page once it goes live and end up turning the YMMV subpage into my personal soapbox. I know TV Tropes isn't meant for grousing about stories you find problematic and besides, for all that I might despise this fanfic I don't actually want to hate on it thoughtlessly.

As to why I'm making a page for Quietus if I disdain it so? It's just fun. Plus it keeps my brain sharp and challenges me to think critically about media.

So my options are as follows:

-Throw in my interpretations on the YMMV subpage anyway, knowing full well no one else on the site might care or know enough about Quietus to form an informed opinion.

-Leave my opinions out and only add them when others start filling up YMMV—again, knowing full well no one else on the site might care or know enough about the story to form an informed opinion, much less share it.

-Only include the milder reactions and leave out the harsher ones. (As an example of the latter, I have a whole spiel written up about an instance of Disproportionate Retribution in one of the more recent chapters, which overlaps with All Gays Are Pedophiles and Harsher in Hindsight.)

What's your advice? Again, sorry if this doesn't go here, and apologies for the long post as well. And thank ye kindly.

Just reminding you that YMMV is to document "general audience reaction", so try to make sure that the opinion you have is shared by the significant portion of the work's audience, and that it's not just your personal opinion. Unfortunate Implications require citation, which means you can't list it on the YMMV page unless you can cite an official third-party source pointing out the unfortunate implications.

If you're not sure about what the other readers perceive the fic, I suggest you refrain from creating the YMMV page, and write your comments/opinions as a review instead.

That was fast—didn't think I'd get a response so soon. Thanks for that, by the way.

So I guess I'll have to cut out most of the tropes I listed under YMMV, then. Unfortunately it seems like I might be in the minority (the extraordinarily microscopic minority) as far as reactions to Quietus go, because aside from the occasional critical/negative review on FF.N, the readers' reactions tend to be overwhelmingly positive. I don't even think most people know about the fanfic who aren't fans of it already, so I'd be hard pressed to cite any sources dissecting it. (Believe me, I tried searching.)

Edit: Never mind, I already visited the reviews section. I don't know how comfortable I'd be reviewing Quietus there, given that it's hardly been mentioned around TV Tropes and that I'm so incredibly biased against it.

Mods, please feel free to lock this thread; I have no other questions or comments to add. Thank you!
