Needs Help: Evil Albino

I don't disagree...but my counter to that would be we DO have, say, Scary Black Man.

And that's an actual trope with an actual pattern and consistent usage.

"An albino character is portrayed as evil" isn't a trope with a consistent, unique meaning.

Huh, fair enough, I guess.

We can make a useful notes page for Albinism if the need arises. But it not necessary to make it as that's not the scope of this thread.

Strangely enough, I've always thought Evil Albino WAS a trope, as long as it's actual albinos (like, say, the Da Vinci Code dude). May be just me. Though hell, Evil Albino seems more tropeworthy than, say, Evil Redhead. That one may need a TRS entry.

Hmm... on the one hand, I understand that this thread made a choice, but on the other, the idea that a mere thirteen votes out of at least thousands of users on this site can make such a big decision doesn't quite sit right with me.

I mean, yeah, TRS is in the corner alone, but people have the choice to participate and choose not to. If they want to be part of these decisions, they need to be involved; if they want to complain after, it's too late. They missed their chance.

I do want TRS stuff to be broadcast better, but it's not our fault more people don't get involved here.

And I personally don't think Evil Albino is tropeworthy because, like I said, there's no consistent pattern and the meanings are covered by other tropes.

So if/when the Albinos Are Freaks trope gets launched, could the potholes that originally been Evil Albino go there instead?

If you think it fits, pitch an example at the TLP draft, btw. We need all the examples we can get.

I don't want to participate in this derail but there aren't enough actual evil albinos because of their albinism to justify its own page...because they aren't many albino characters period. Same way having a good albino trope didn't work out either. Being that albinism is a rare trait, it's going to be relatively rare in fiction.

They can just be folded in Red Right Hand for albinism= evil of they have sufficient context.

But of course, y'know anyone can take things to TLP if they think can gather enough examples of villains who actually have albinism and that trait actually used as a short hand for evil. But that usually plays out as Albinos Are Freaks so.. not really needed

So now, let's get back to wick cleanup.

Though as for the broadcast issue, here's a thread; now lets please stop derailing and let this thread finish.

Evil Albino is now at 0 wicks.

Heroic Albino is at 1 wick, but it seems to be someone's personal sandbox.

That wick was just some Trope Pantheon stuff. I got rid of it.

The draft has been updated with all of the suggestions, though some are commented out as while I believe they fit the trope, there isn't enough context nor enough information to make it viable.

Anyone wanna give a look-over or should I just launch it?
