The Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment exists to prevent tropers from making agenda-based edits or bringing up irrelevant controversial issues, but it's not always obvious if something breaks the rule or not. This thread serves the purposes of:
- Getting consensus on cutting overly controversial edits.
- Rewriting biased examples to be more neutral.
- Pre-emptively clarifying if a possible example actually violates the rule, or if it's okay to add.
- Making sure that the rule isn't just being used as an excuse to write a Zero-Context Example ("Some people think that X is Y, and that's all we have to say about it.")
See also the thread "Trump and ROCEJ" for the specific topic of tropers sneaking their political views (not just views regarding Donald Trump, despite the title) onto the wiki.
See Pages Attracting Edits That Promote Bigotry for pages that attract ROCEJ violations that are bigoted in nature.

I guess that's true. Their comedy can have tropes sprinkled in.
Sort of reminds me of Chris Ray Gun, who makes political videos, but also has skits, characters, and music, giving us a lot to discuss besides his political views. As long as the pages for people like Oliver aren't just focused primarily on their politics, they might be keepable.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessUgh, when did we get a Louder With Crowder page? Also in favour of cutting. He's not as bad as Stonetoss but repeatedly calling Carlos Maza a 'gay mexican', 'little queer' and 'lispy sprite', wearing 'Socialism is for f*gs' shirts that he also sells as merch is bad enough I reckon. His views on climate change and the 2020 election indicate that he's either another loud shill who makes a living by pretending to believe the ridiculous things he says, or he's just genuinely a bit stupid and acts in terrible faith at all times. Nothing of value would be lost, and since his work is intrinsically tied to his politics then I don't think we could cover him air-quotes 'neutrally' without being explicitly negative, which is a bad look.
I don't think a blanket ban on all political commentators and media would be effective or enforceable due to how political themes can be applied to practically anything, but I think Crowder is definitely close enough to alt-right to go.
Agreed. I'm in favor of a page cut.

Cut the Crowder page.
Rawr.I’m in favor of cutting Louder With Crowder as well. While we have pages for other politics-based works such as Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, I think it’s reasonable for us to not want to have a page for a guy who’s blatantly racist and homophobic.
(Last Week Tonight with John Oliver does need a cleanup though, since there seems to be a lot of real-life troping.)

back lolRally, you have anything meaningful to add with this devil's advocate act? Anything?
Cut Crowder, too. I'll fix up the Feminism page.
I count eight votes in favor of a cut, two people who have commented but didn't vote, and one person who seems to be implying they're against a cut, but hasn't explicitly said it.
Is that enough that we can cutlist it again, or should we get a crowner going?
Edited by Serac on Mar 31st 2021 at 11:15:52 AM
I noted that the Feminism edits were discussed in this thread in an edit reason.
Rawr.If I wasn't clear before, cut Crowder. Politics aren't tropeworthy, and he doesn't add anything tropeworthy to his content. Is that a good enough reason, Rally? Or are you going to Slippery-Slope us again?
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessMaybe we should spin off another thread for this, and go down the page since there's more potentially tropeworthy stuff here than for Stonetoss.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Actually, I disagree there. Stonetoss had (attempted) jokes, characters, and the like. Crowder doesn't really have that AFAIK.

No me importa lo mojado, solo es agua. Alguien-2010JFR, that might be an ad hominem attack. But honestly, I'm willing to accept the cut, mainly because while I'm against deleting work pages just because the creator has offensive viewpoins, deleting works tied to inflammatory political beliefs doesn't seem to lower our popularity too much (I think there was a drop after Stonetoss was deleted, but I'd need more results to potentially establish a pattern), and some say that it can apparently be good for the website's standing.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)It has nothing to do with his views and everything to do with the fact that he's not tropeworthy.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSome of the people above do seem to want to cut the page because of them based on what they say, though. I myself don't care whether he's tropeworthy or not, that's not something I can judge.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)I mean, it's pretty objective. Is his work creative in any way? Does it have any sort of narrative or fictionalization? If not, he's not tropeworthy, and he's cut.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessForgive me if I'm late to the conversation, but I'd like to give a to getting rid of the Louder with Crowder page.
There are no narrative elements to trope, so I am also in favor of cutting it.
Cut Crowder
Absolute destiny... apeachalypse? We already have a few political commentators in the Permanent Red Link Club.
Since Ann Coulter is in that club for having controversial political views, Crowder can safely join the club.

@Jay, at least John Oliver and his ilk are comedians, for the most part, so the portions that are related to their comedy are not so off mission.
Also, why am I the page-topper.
Additionally, John is a big soccer fan, so he worked that into some of his bits of 2015.
