I think the shark hurts the effectiveness of getting the trope across...kinda misses the point of it being an acid pool if an animal can survive in it.
Here's another, from Death of the Family:

A as it's already in use for the page image of Shark Pool.
The Rosers were red. The Drownies are blue. I know What the Thunder Said. Do you?Current is funnier than 2.
Keet cleanupNot sure it should be funny... if there are other comedic examples in the example list I'd rather a dark-to-comedic shift than the other way around.
Anyway, it's been... damn, 8 years? Since I posted this in one of the old Nightmare Fuel threads. Here's an alternate pair of screenshots of one of the same fatalities.
That isn't a very good image because the acid pool is in the background.
Well, that pretty much dooms my suggestion.
I prefer the current, but I'm fine with 2 if that's what people want. The other suggestions are not worth talking about.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes. The trouble with the option from post 2 is that it looks more radioactive than corrosive... not to say the two are mutually exclusive (not familiar enough with chemistry to comment either way) but I picked the dead pool example to show the corrosive action.
Alternatively, we could zoom in on the victim. (Holy hell it sounds so deranged when I put it that way.)
I'd say keep current or 2.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.The Dip is on Roger Rabbit's Nightmare Fuel page, and really ought to stay there.
Crowner?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Why? I assume it's either because the replacement is hard to find or because of its content?
Spiral out, keep going. There aren't that many other options for that page, especially since the most likely replacement spoils Judge Doom's true nature.
Oh. Point taken.
A couple of more options from Monkey Island 2:
The text is barely legible in the latter, and could be relegated to the caption:

Spiral out, keep going.Clock is set. Crowner?
Thanks, it's hooked.
Going ahead and bumping this one.
This one's ready to call. The page is tagged and I've added a few of the options to the Image Links page; locking up.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
Nothing wrong with the current pic, I just wanted to throw my own suggestion out there:
