Opened.
I like 1.3 and 1.4 the best out of those, but I don't know how well they would look at wiki-size.
1.1 looks a little chaotic and not very illustrative.
1.2 is about on par with the current.
3 and 4 at wikisize:
Not bad.
That's pretty good...wouldn't mind seeing something a little flashier, but I'd be happy with it.
(Annoyed grunt)
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
The Rosers were red. The Drownies are blue. I know What the Thunder Said. Do you?
How does Augmented Reality differ from Robo Cam? The second paragraph of the latter mentions "a human character with implanted cyber-eyes may have a vision field like this, complete with sensor read-outs, crosslines superimposed over enemies he's aiming at, or picture-in-picture for an incoming videophone message".
Bring it up at the Duplicate Tropes Cleanup thread.
How about this shot from Person of Interest, for those that want something flashier:
Ideally we can settle on an image that makes the distinction clear. Can we do this at this moment?
Robo Cam is about first-person perspective; of the suggestions so far, only 1.3 is in first-person, the rest are not.
Hmm, what part of the description of Augmented Reality argues against a POV shot? Goggles are mentioned as a possible application.
It doesn't argue against it. Robo Cam specifically requires first-person and Augmented Reality does not.
Robo Cam is an inherent ability of the robot / character (it is how they perceive the world) and Augmented Reality isn't (the characters / whoever are using a device to gather this information).

^ That's a more useful distinction than the fuzzy POV/non-POV dichotomy.

The current image would be absolutely perfect if it was from a work. I think Eden of the East had a similar shot, but I can't find it (the AR was a relatively minor part of the plot).
I'm never opposed to non-work related images, but it's very low-quality, you can barely see the AR parts.
Clock is set. Crowner?
I'll go ahead and make one.
ETA: Done.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I missed this crowner getting posted; it's hooked now.
Votes bump; only one option with a positive ratio right now.
No caption discussion; locking up.
