I've heard of a couple youtubers who initially made videos criticizing/attacking Alita, only to delete them and come back praising Alita while attacking Captain Marvel.

Well since Carol made bank and then some with her first movie, what would you guys like to see in a sequel?
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?I think an interquel could be cool, because it would be interesting to see what she was up to in those 20 years and how she dealt with the Kree-Skrull war, but then again, I'd also kinda dig it if a sequel introduced Kamala.... then again, I could be biased, and maybe she'd be better off in her own movie. (shrug)
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.Several conversations here have kind of ironed out for me what I want in the next one:
- The sequel to be the Empire Strikes Back to this one's A New Hope (something I'd like for Black Panther as well), a plot heavy with loss or the risk/threat of loss whereas this one was largely triumphant.
- A plot in which someone (either the Kree, or an Earthborne organization like AIM) tries to replicate the lightning in the bottle that created "the weapon" (IE, Carol) by experimenting on humans.
- Though more importantly, two things created by that plot: Monica, as Photon. And the main villain, Moonstone or Michael Korvac or Radioactive Man or someone like that.
- If the Kree are the bad guys again, for the love of Thanos do something to make them more interesting. More likely they'll get Eviler than Thou'd, though.
- Ultron X Supreme Intellgience OTP.
- If the Kree do get Eviler than Thou'd, imo Carol could be a great way to introduce or develop the next Big Bad in the MCU - since she's so powerful and as both a cosmic hero and an Earth one her range is very wide.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The Supreme Intelligence might take that role?
Watch me destroying my countryEdit- Should have read more closely. Pretty much the same thoughts as above except with the possible addition of Minn-erva.

Yeah, I want Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan. Anything else would just be icing on the cake.
I mostly want to see Kree society. Not just a glimpse here and there, I want finally explore how a foreign planet actually works,
EDIT: WRONG THREAD!

Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?So do we all agree that what happened to Carol in the movie counts as Gaslighting? I was thinking of adding an entry for it in the trope page (spoilered of course).
Disgusted, but not surprisedWatched this the other day.
I liked it. I think it was a good movie and I can't think of any issue that stands out.
For some strange reason it kinda made me sad: when I saw Carol kicking ass in outer space, I thought "Man...that's how awesome Green Lantern could've been..."
Oh well.
Also, I never expected Carol to respond to Fury's rescue signal THAT quickly.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. She didn't. It's implied to have been blinking for days. It probably took a while for the signal to reach her wherever she was, and even longer to get back to Earth. And that's assuming she wasn't also busy at the time dealing with the fallout of The Snap on other worlds.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI was expecting weeks or months so few days still sound pretty quick to me. I was expecting her to show up somewhere around middle of Endgame.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.TBF though, FTL travel is one of her superpowers. Comes with being empowered by energy from the Space Stone, which explicitly allows for that sort of thing.
Disgusted, but not surprisedCarol to Thanos, possibly: -wags finger- “You’re too slooow!”

Forever liveblogging the AvengersShe probably won't do that in the heat of battle...but then that's generally a problem with portrayals of superhero battles that involve a Flying Brick who has Super-Speed as a power. Like Superman.
The only times Super-Speed is used in a fight is if Super-Speed is the primary powerset, ala Flash and Quicksilver.
That is of course because it'd be kind of boring if every fight was ended in an instant.

Disgusted, but not surprisedYes, it is gaslighting.
And I don't see her space jump power as a problem, because she doesn't really have superspeed in a "can turn up and defeat anyone" way, it is more like she can do huge jumps in space.
Reminds me of the X-Men character Lila Cheney whose mutant power is teleportation. Except she can only travel interstellar distances. Meaning if she wants to use her power to teleport across the street, she has to teleport to Alpha Centauri first, then teleport to the other side of the street.
And while we're at it, I'm still not entirely sure how the Mind Stone experiments gave Pietro Super-Speed. At least Wanda's powers are Mind over Matter Psychic Powers.
The powers Carol and Wanda got from the Space and Mind Stones make sense. Pietro's doesn't.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI explain it away as all Infinity stones being pure energy, no matter what their purpose is, and more energy somehow allowing him to move faster.
Is not the best explanation, but it kind of works, I guess.
I guess it explains how the Space Stone ends up being a power source for energy weapons. You'd think the Power Stone would be a better fit.
At least the Space Stone's use in the first Avengers movie makes sense: opening a portal to space.

Disgusted, but not surprisedSure, but it is kind of consistent. Like, the reality stone is apparently pure energy, too, hence Jane's body being barely able to handle the aether.
All of the Stones in general are basically Toxic Phlebotinum regardless of their specific power.
Given the true nature of the Aether as the Reality Stone, it really sends the message of just how lacking in imagination Malekith was. He had a Reality Warper tool, but all he could think of to do with it is "make the universe dark".
At least Thanos got creative with it, even if his last use of it boiled down to "turn people into dust".

Disgusted, but not surprisedAnd he thought he had to wait until the convergence to even do it.
They said Alita Battle Angel was a terrible movie? I don't remember seeing this...
