ITT: We Are All Pirates' Revenge

"Do you see her, Mr. Riles?" asks Victor, looking at the pier.

(With Tom moving the Zenpence toward the docks, Ira stands up.) Figure we should get ready to dock and head ashore now, yeah?

"Yeah," Gabrielle replies, "I'm itchin' to get the hell on ground."

"I'm not, but I want to help so I'm going to anyway..."

Barhaven

As the ship nears port, the horrific sound of sharp glass breaking and scrapping against wood can be heard coming from underneath the ship. If the crew ere to look over the sides they could see clear beer bottles littering the bottom of the waters. As they were as clear as the water around them they weren't easily visible until the ship was right on them.

As they docked at port they can see a welcome sign: "Welcome to New Barhaven!"

Now that the group was in port they can see the city itself wasn't nearly as garish-looking or bright as it did from a distance, the sun was just really bright that day. None of the paint on the buildings was of the metallic variety, and the bright colors were complemented with muted colors that weren't visible from the sea that makes the whole buildings look pleasing to the eye.

What wasn't so pleasing was the fashion. While some of the clothes was relatively nice to look at and some were even stylish, some of the color combinations chosen was absolutely horrendous.

On a bulletin board in the center of the docks was a poster telling of an election coming up for mayor of the city in a few days, and one of the things that is a hot topic for that is the bank.

From a distance, Kauri didn't like the town much. Up close, he likes it even less. At this point, he kind of hoped he could stay on the ship and not deal with these people…

Hearing the sound crashing against the ship, Tom almost immediately moves to stop their motion and let out the anchor, even almost before they get to the dock. Once they're finally stopped, he looks over to Melvin and co. for just a second shouting what sounds like an apology before taking off belowdeck to check the hull for damages or punctures from the interior. How had all of them missed that?

(Having since gone back below deck, the sudden scraping noise elicits a startled squeal from the Sharkazil, who clambers up above deck as fast as it can as Tom goes down, eyes darting around frantically.)

What actually was that? (Ira asks before he looks over the side of the boat and sees the drink bottles and flasks littering the water. He wrinkles his snout in disgust at the sight.) Oh, yeech...well, uh, all ashore who's going ashore, eh?

Nephenee can't help but cringe a bit at the sound and sight of all the bottles in the water.

"Geez... You'd think with how gaudy everything else here is they'd pride themselves in taking care of the damn waters around the place", she huffed.

"Ah," Gabrielle says with a smirk over the sound of glass scraping against wood, "I just love the sound of glass shards in the mornin'."

Melvin walks ashore and is just as revolted by the bottles.

"Welp. I like this place even less now."

Parada stares down at the water, face wrinkled up in disgust.

Sennen was already pretty unimpressed by this place, but the buildup of old beer bottles successfully sours her opinion further.

"Gods, this place is a bloody mess..."

She disembarks with no hint whatsoever of the enthusiasm she's shown during their previous new experiences.

"I'm getting out! I hate gore!"

"No, you're staying with us! Plus, I'll be with you no matter what."

I don't think she meant that kind of blood, kiddo. (Ira tells Samantha as he disembarks after Melvin.) Well, this is definitely gonna be an...interesting visit. That's for sure...

(He still looks visibly disgusted at the sight of the beer bottles.)

Nephenee hops off of the ship and follows the captain.

"I just hope the bank is cleaner...", the mercenary grumbled.

Gabrielle jumps and slowly floats down.

"Eh, don't get your hopes up." she says in reply to Nephenee.

Parada disembarks with the others, muttering crossly the whole way.

(Do I have to go? I really don't want to…) Kauri thinks to himself as he watches everyone else dismount. (… Buuut I really don't wanna get left behind.) Reluctantly, he elects to join the others in getting off the ship, but not without Old Silver in his arms. He jumps off the side of the ship and onto the dock. "Hup! Woah– OOF!" To say he landed with grace couldn't be a more blatant lie. The sword in his grasp caused him to tilt forward upon landing, ultimately ending with him flopping onto his face. "… ouch."

Melvin stops. "Are you okay, Kauri?" he says, walking over.

Kauri slowly gets back up, rubbing his face. "Y-Yeah, I'm okay…" If anything, he seems more embarrassed than actually hurt. He grabs his sword once more and stands back up, ready to follow the others. Though, he's not necessarily ready to interact with any of these townspeople…

(Ira hears the noise from Kauri falling down, but by the time he's over there, Melvin is already checking on Kauri.) Everything good? (Ira asks Melvin just to make sure.)

(The Sharkazil, curious as to where everyone is going (and having slept through most of the trip), begins following the crew off the ship.) Mrrzt! (The gangplank noticeably creaks under its weight.)

"Yeah, I think he's okay," Melvin says to Ira.

He turns back when he hears the Sharkazil. "Hmmm... what are we going to do with that thing?"

"Bleh. I'm having second thoughts about the whole heist thing."

Good. We won’t have to do a heist if the bankers just give us the shard.
