Finally going through RPG mode after spending over a month only having done like a third of it.
It's... less fun than the main game, as it's clear the game isn't built to be 2D Beat 'em Up, and stuff like side switching and performing special moves are harder than they need to be, especially for charge characters.
Still, fun. The best parts are the bosses, which pose a different kind of challenge. I spend a while just farming Bahamut to get all my characters up to level 50.
So far, the hardest thing so far - and only on a completion basis - as been the "Beat Vaseraga in 50's Seconds" side mission to his story mission, surprisingly so since the according speedrun mission for Zeta was so easy I beat it without even knowing it was there. The fact that boss Vaseraga has infinite super armor on his moves (rather than the normal two hits) (in addition to the moments where bosses have super armor naturally), that he blocks far more often than the other characters, and his higher health pool than the other character bosses means he just tanks damage and the usual way of draining bosses' health don't work as well. Which is amusing because he's otherwise a pretty easy boss, just not easy to to quickly. Finally managed with a bluntly overleveled team, but even then it took a few tries.

- Sandalphon: A Primal Beast as the backup angel to the Supreme Primarch who oversees everything in the skies, and had something of an inferiority complex about this. Indisputably the most popular male character in the entirety of Granblue. Also can be considered as sad gay angel who drinks coffee #1.
- Cagliostro: The founder of alchemy in Granblue with a incredibly long life thanks to cracking the secrets of immortality among many other spells and an equally massive ego to boot.
- Seox: Member of the Eternals, the super strongest characters in Granblue. A sad catboi with lots of angst in his backstory who can be bullied when you steal his mask
- Siegfried: Percival and Lancelot's comrade, used to be their leader before complicated stuff with their knightly order went down.
- Seofon: The leader of the aforementioned Eternals. Basically Granblue's equivalent to Fate/stay night's Archer with the same powers and voice actor.
- Silva: Insanely good sniper who had a fallout with one of the Eternals.
- Vane: Percival and Lancelot's other comrade, basically a golden retriever in human form considering his personality .
- Beatrix: Zeta and Vaseraga's ally and basically the Butt-Monkey of their clique. Also probably has a thing for her sword, or at the very least, is wayyyyyy too attached to it.
- Clarisse: Cagliostro's great-grand times something niece, a Book Dumb alchemist who specalizes in explosions and nothing else.
- Monika: One of the captains of the Granblue police
- Vania: Vampire princess who's convinced that Gran/Djeeta is her familiar. Also has a pet dragon.
- Lucifer: The Supreme Primarch with authority over most Primal Beasts and oversees everything in the world to make sure it's running smoothly. Also can be considered as sad gay angel who drinks coffee #2
- Ilsa: Zeta and Vaseraga's Drill Sergeant Nasty who trained them.
- Aliza: Draph Tomboy Princess Kick Chick who's been in an on-off relationship with her bodyguard/childhood friend.
At least for the top 5, Sandalphon is an archangel and the central character of the original What Makes The Sky Blue trilogy in the mobile game. He uses a katana and four floating swords that surround his body, might make for an interesting Ramlethal-type or something.
Cagliostro is an alchemist and would function as the obligatory mage character. Probably something along the lines of Nine.
Vira as you already mentioned is the resident Psycho Lesbian who has a complex surrounding Katalina, playstyle wise I figure her gimmick would probably revolve around her power to fuse with Chevalier/Luminiera and give her an install of sorts. Could be interesting if they tied it to her regular moveset as opposed to Soriz's super mode.
Seox is one of the Eternals and uses melee claws as his main weapon, so basically think Wolverine in terms of how he would play. Very heavy rushdown.
Siegfried is the leader of the Dragon Knights (the group Lancelot and Percival are a part of) so of course he has that fangirl factor going for him. I'm not sure what gimmick he would have just looking at his skillset, but he's a sword user similar to Percival.

Siegfried would probably play like Siegfried I assume.
From what little I know Sandalphon and Vira seem really likely. Unless they want Narmaya to be the only katana wielder for some reason.
Djeeta's super is insane BTW. I like playing as her a lot more than Gran. Gotta try Zooey now.

BTW, do we have any official statements or interviews answering why the bonus codes for the game are only for the PS4 version? Or why the codes weren't available in the Steam port?

The most common speculation is that Cygames is afraid people would abuse Steam's refund policy to immediately grab the codes and then refund it with qualifications for doing so since they wouldn't have played it for so long, creating a net loss.

Belial trailer, comes out in September, Cagliostro will be arriving in October, one more fighter for this year, the next three are next year. Also his theme is straight up ported from the main game 
New gameplay update trailer, there'll be a new boss, new RPG Mode chapters, and new ranked match mode in Blitz mode, and a new mode dedicated to fighting bosses.

Bumping to note that they just announced that there'll be a sequel called Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising on PS4/5 and Steam to be released later this year.
It will feature rollback and crossplay. All save data from the first GBVS game carries over (basically all the cool weapon skins you may or may not have unlocked) and the entire roster from the first game remains as well.
The teaser is the first new addition will be a Divine General.
The final balance update to Versus will go live on January 24th.

Siegfried will be a fighter in Versus Rising! And the beta test for playstation consoles will be going up in May.
It's probably the copium from PriConne's global servers going kaput talking, but how grand would it be if we got Pecorine as a Guest Fighter? Or Grimnir? (The latter never appeared in PriConne but whatever.)
