I was thinking of asking what people thought were the most interesting post-election Trump related media.
The Good Fight on CBS Access devoted their entire second season to dealing with the subject.

Bothans? Many of them died after all.
According to this, it's the Ewoks.

"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimFor such a title, I just see the European theatre
Watch me destroying my countryThe Empire was based on the Soviets?
That's a new one.
The Empire were Space Nazis, not Space Communists.
Disgusted, but not surprised- The Helghast is kind of an opposite of the Galactic Empire as Commie Nazis EXPY. While the GE leans more Nazi than Soviet, the reverse is the Hellghast. They're collectivized farming and state industries with them becoming East Germany in the latest game.
- The People's Republic of Haven is a combination of the Soviet Union and the French Revolutionary Republic in the Honor Harrington series.
- The Imperial Order in the Sword of Truth series is based on the Soviet Union as we find out it's a communist materialist society. Weirdly, Richard Rahl is the leader of the former Nazi Expy group and bluntly, his reign gets increasingly fascist.
- The Klingons in the original Star Trek before they were made Feudal Future characters were based on the communists.
- The Cybermen from Doctor Who and Invasion of the Body Snatchers aliens.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. That's a new one.
The Empire were Space Nazis, not Space Communists.
You realize you can be both, right?
In fiction, you can draw from multiple sources.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Except you have provided no actual evidence of that. At least, none that actually proved your point.
I'm not sure why you want them to be Space Communists too.
I say this as someone who despises Stalinism and Maoism and their apologists.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI always got the impression that the Empire was, well, mostly secular. Not necessarily atheist, either.
Mainly, however, it was rabidly "don't give anybody not specifically chosen to learn enough to work out how the Force works, or you'll face destabilising challenges every three months". Sith... don't really go in for quantity for a reason.
They only really gave a shit about suppressing and discrediting the teachings of the Way of the Force. For obvious reasons.
And Sith do still recruit Dark Side agents. They just don't teach these agents nearly enough to be full on Sith.

Disgusted, but not surprisedNo one has yet provided any statement it's not or rebuttal or evidence it's purely Nazi.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. You're the one making the claim. The burden of proof is on you.
Disgusted, but not surprised[deleted]
Fair enough.
Sorry I brought it up.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThe Soviets being the Ewoks and/or Rebels based on the joke video is not too far of a stretch, as Lucas infamously claimed the Ewoks were supposed to be the Vietcong with the Empire the theoretical Americans.
Power of Thor!Yeah, Endor was the Empire's 'Nam apparently.
That of course has some rather Unfortunate Implications. That's what happens when one claims that the man-eating savage little fuzzy aliens are based on actual people. To say nothing of comparing the Storm Troopers to American troops.

Disgusted, but not surprisedMind you, I think Lucas was giving the Hollywood History idea that he simply liked the idea of less advanced technology groups defeating more advanced.
Which...is not Vietnam at all.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Well his remarks are infamous for a reason. Then again, this isn't the first time an alien species has had uncomfortable real life connections in Star Wars, given that the Tusken Raiders, Jar Jar and Watto have all been criticized for being caricatures. The Ewoks kind of get lost in the whole deal though, largely because they're more hated for being blatant merchandise fodder than for Lucas' ill-thought analogy.
Power of Thor!Lucas is, unsurprisingly, the party chiefly behind the Temple of Doom's problems.
Spielberg actually asked him what the fuck was up with the dinner scene as no Hindu would touch any of that. Lucas just said he wanted to gross audiences out.
I don't even know where you'd begin fixing that movie's Unfortunate Implications.
Which is a shame because if you COULD fix the racism, it's probably the best.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. But is how vietnam got remenbered, is pretty much david vs goliath, the guys who make god bleed and so on.
And I will said that while the empire is based on the nazis is not toally based on then, for example the lack of racial scapegoat liek the jews or lack much of the batshit insanity.
which is not a bad think on is own.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Oh the Empire was pretty batshit insane.
And they did scapegoat a group: the Jedi.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI said racial, the jedi are political and religious with taken the prequels, the look more like stand for democracy or not facist group, so the scapegoat dosent match well.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"The Jedi are their most successful scapegoat, but come Rebels and it's pretty clear the Empire is perfectly willing to scapegoat anyone for anything if it gives them an excuse to tighten their grip on the galaxy.
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimThe Legends and Expanded Universe Galactic Empire have been pretty openly xenophobic towards aliens. In Rebels, they killed off the Geonosians and an old Legends story revolving around Boba Fett had him hired by an alien whose species was getting rounded up in what was basically a mobile concentration camp.
Power of Thor! The idea of black billionaire Bruce Wayne being pulled over by cops for driving an expensive sports car is a very interesting premise for a scene.

"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."
Now that we mentioned them, which are the actual Soviet expies?
