Hello, hello, and welcome to Season 237! Yes, it’s that time again, yet another exciting season of the Hunger Games! Sit back, relax, and grab your favourite snack, ‘cuz this one’s gonna be a doozy!

…I say this about pretty much every season, don’t I…

Anyway! Meet the tributes◊ of this season!◊ I spy a lot of very familiar faces this time around… what is this, "Psyche's Favourite Works Season"? Not that I'm complaining! That just means I have plenty of tributes to root for! Putting that aside, though – who will live? Who will die? Will Meta Knight and Lucina cuddle? Leeeeeeet's find out!

THE◊ BLOODBATH◊

• Yeah, you know the drill – most tributes run away and/or grab some random thing, and there are a few noteworthy incidents in between. We're only going to note the latter.
• Crazy Dave declares the intent to crank his craziness Up To Eleven and annoy the other tributes with it.
• Bootleg Rushia is being surprisingly threatening. Does she have a Sharingan after all?
• And the first kill of the season goes to… Wynne! F for Ramirez, as he is the very first casualty.
• There's something ironic about hoping that someone called Starved brought pizza.
• Uh-oh! The Max Headroom Guy is here to plot revenge against the Chicago TV stations that put an end to his illegal broadcasts!
• Lucina, you do realise that your aunts – and your mother, at least according to my preferred playthrough – are blonde, right? I don't think they'd appreciate that objective.
• I'm not terribly surprised that M&M Dr. Phil is feeling that way.
• Jon really, really doesn't like seagulls.
• Ohhhhh. No. Nonononono. That is cursed. Don't do this to me, HGS. Just don't.
• Tragically, NYAN CAR broke down before he had a chance to start. RIP.
• Why Ina and CCC in particular? Could a Cookie Run fan enlighten me on this?
• Sypha and Trevor set off an explosive. A bunch of tributes get caught in the blast, but Sarge is the unfortunate tribute that doesn't survive.
• Spyro is VAC banned for using an aimbot. Guess we won't be seeing him for the rest of the season.
• Sana makes an attempt at Pipsqueak's life, but the hammer she uses does nothing but, well, squeak.

DAY◊ ONE◊

• Wynne finds ?????? absolutely terrifying. Not that I necessarily blame her.
• Couldn't the seagull have just flown, though…?
• Ew.
• Y'all gotta learn how to paint weed better.
• Janky Kong, plz, Bootleg Rushia has barely had any time to be interesting! Have some patience!
• Oh no, Muscle Man's wall is getting torn down, how terrible.
• So, cookies? Or is that cannibalism in CCC's case?
• Max Headroom Guy decides to disguise as a piano. Badly. Very badly.
• Tom is so impatient that he ends up yeeting Eunie at Starved's booth, which kills the latter. Again, have some patience!
• Trevelyan kills Steve for confronting him about stealing and profiting off his idea. It's only the first day and this guy is already shaping up to be as unlikable as he was in the OG.
• Ow.
• Gura gets a Crazy Dave plushie. Not a bad type of plushie, actually.
• How can the pretzels do any kind of roll…?

Sarge died by being blown up in a huge orgy of death. It's how he would've wanted to go.

And Eunie is, indeed, the best. The best projectile.

And of course I get out first.

That's the second time in a row my tribute^note technically since Toriel was my tribute by proxy last season captured someone with a cardboard box! Considering the size difference, that's pretty impressive.

NIGHT◊ ONE◊

• Are we sure he doesn't know it's crack, though?
• Bootleg Rushia kills Kermit for throwing rocks at her. That's… a little over-the-top, mate.
• Fittingly, Furnace endures a fiery death. Man, Trevelyan's pretty eager to get his hands bloody…
• Max Headroom Guy just… explodes. From smoking weed. So much for his revenge plot…
• Gertie misunderstands Pipsqueak's request.
• Sypha and Trevor save Jon from his own idiocy.
• Gura gouges Boba and Fennec's eyes out and leaves them for dead. Yeowch.
• A cat walks across Little Nemo's keyboard while the latter is chatting with another cat. Who is probably also typing in gibberish.
• Meta Knight, no! No more burning down camps!
• Where's the lie, though?
• Don't try to destroy figures with lightning, otherwise you'll end up like Pilgor.
• Lucina gains the power of resurrection, and uses it on Damien immediately after he gets killed.
• Nintendo is feeling emo.
• It turns out that Ryoma has a cat, which tracks with his canonical love for them. What isn't so canonical is him… being evil. What are you planning, Ryoma? What r u doin?
• But how…?

DAY◊ TWO◊

• Pilgor talks smack about a bunch of tributes from beyond the grave.
• Uh-oh… Meta Knight is a villain… again…
• Jerry trolls Tom by stealing the latter's Tamagotchi and only returning it when it– wait a second this isn't a cartoon about a mouse outsmarting a cat.
• Bootleg Rushia has found a new video game to stream on Bootleg YouTube.
• And this, kids, is why you don't break strange orbs! RIP Gamma 1 and Gamma 2.
• Y'know, if I were carrying a coffin filled with pretzels, I'd probably be dancing too.
• Murder was not the answer, Little Nemo…
• Otsdarva is very excited for Muscle Man's cooking.
• And here's our first Snow death of the season, everybody!
• Sypha and Trevor work together to strategise their victory.
• Well, that sure could've gone better.
