The Manectric holds her gaze on the Raichu a little longer before shaking her head. "Oh, no, I get it. We've had a lot of people ask for help because they just used a Transfer Orb and didn't know how to control their new forms. I didn't think it'd be such a personal thing to you, though. My bad. I won't pry anymore." She backs up as if to reinforce Mila's boundaries and clears her throat. "Anyways, back to training… I want you to try that again. Build up your power, release it in small amounts, and try to cancel out whatever's still there. Think of it like… swallowing. You know, just gulping down medicine or something. Be sure to pace yourself, though. Pushing yourself too hard won't get you anywhere."

After his long windup, Heinrich suddenly charges at Marlon, his ribbonlike arm outstretched and coated in energy.

Philo frowns.

"That does not sound correct, no. The usage of Ice moves should be something you have total control over from the moment the power builds within you. It should feel flowing and natural, not uncomfortable and forced."

Heinrich is now coming right at me with what would appear to be a Force Palm. Dodge it completely or try to parry it? Dodge, parry, dodge, parry—I'm gonna try parrying.

As Heinrich closes in I raise one arm out in front of me to parry his inbound attack, keeping myself steadied and not trying to drag my bad leg around.

Alice, who briefly sank into her own training, is brought out of it by the sudden burst from Mila, but soon after sinks backs into it. Actually, she notices Steph using what appears to be Psybeam.

Yesss, it looksss like you have!

On a boat

The boat is now on the move. Stellan knows it's go time.

I wouldn't call myself an expert, just more or less someone who knew her growing up and still knows her tendencies now.

"Not at all!" "We've been walking quite a while ourselves." Pauline and Lyman help shepherd Autumn over towards the table, leaving Woodruff to follow along behind them. He watches Autumn, noting the worry as well on her face. Today was supposed to be more relaxing, but he's a little tense himself what with his mother darting her eyes about like her crime followed her here and Autumn out here all on her lonesome.

He takes the spot at the table opposite his parents. Lyman briefly looks out into the crowd before giving Pauline's paw a little rub, then turning back to Autumn. "Now what you said before, we're thinkin' of moving to the island, actually. Woodruff mentioned us maybe headin' off to Becchel and findin' somewhere to settle down."

(The Moonblast sent Kenzo back a few feet, but he still stood tall. His fist began to spark with electricity and he approached her with an attack to the gut.)

Hikari twirled to sidestep the incoming attack before floatily flipping siedways and launching another Moonblast as she moved.

"WOAH!" Bailey says upon seeing Stanley's demonstration of Psychic. "That's so cool! Let me try!"

Bailey stares at the dummy intently, focusing as hard as he can. His eyes seem to glow a little... but the dummy only budges just a tiny bit, and since it's already knocked over, this only starts it rolling a little.

"Huh..."

Marlon's parry successfully knocks Heinrich's attack aside, but it won't be without considerable effort on Marlon's part. Retired he may be, but Heinrich still has the raw strength you'd expect from an ex-pro, and if he's holding back to ensure Marlon's injury isn't aggravated it's only barely. The speed with which the Mienshao regains his balance and returns to a ready position also betrays his professional origins.

"Not bad. Not bad at all."

"Mmmmhmmm... tell me, do you feel any connection whatsoever to the powers of ice when you are not actively focusing upon them? Or do you need intense concentration to summon them forth at all?"

Dana thinks for a bit.

".. It's weird. Like, most of the time I need to think when I'm using it? But then when I go into battle I kinda just.. make Hail happen. And it's not, like, super intense concentration I need, but I still need to think about it first..?"

(Splat goes Rex's Mud Slap against the dummy. It visibly shudders, followed by it shuddering again from Bailey's Psychic.)

Nice job, fellers! (Stanley says, impressed.) You've all got the hang of it already! Want me to set the dummy back up so you can all try again?

(At this point, I am quietly looking on as Stanley continues training the three new arrivals. Doesn't seem to be much room for me to cut in right now. I suppose I can either wait for him to get done with them or see if any of the other trainers can be of any help while I wait. I don't know who I would go with, though. Alice doesn't seem as though she would have much she could teach me as a Grass-type. Who else is here?)

(Meanwhile, Marsha is still spectating Marlon and Heinrich's little sparring match.) Nice one, Marly!

Leaving Blissparce

So ya can tell us how to avoid meetin' the same fate as Goobert, yeah? (Cortez snorts.)

(Renata is momentarily distracted by something moving in the sky that she thought looked like Delilah, still on her way to Harnicara with Benji and Lucy. She hopes her little Del stays safe. She's been through so much in her life already. She would hate for her to have to deal with the potential loss of her Goodra friend.)

(Almost nothing else is running through my mind besides saving Goobert and keeping the promise I made to Mother as I fly on. I can't stop thinking about our talk that day she was in the hospital:)

Now, Della...I can quite tell that Goobert doesn't seem to know where he's going here. (Renata tells Della.) This is because he's not from this world as you told me, correct?

Yes, Mother. (Delilah says.) He's still trying to adjust to being here.

Then it's a good thing he has someone like yourself to help him make heads or tails of this world, isn't it? (Renata says.) You love him, right?

Of course! (Delilah says, nodding.)

Well, now here's your chance to prove it, Della. (Renata says.) What I want to see from you is that you can help Goobert adjust to his new life here and make sure that he stays safe. It's a wonderful, but still very dangerous world out there to explore, and while I've always told you to be prepared to face what happens out there, Goobert has still been thrust into this world without warning and there is still much about this world that he doesn't know yet. Delilah, help him to live in this world and make sure nothing happens to him.

I will. I promise. (Delilah nods.)

(Renata smiles and places her claw across Delilah's.) That's my girl...

(I feel tears streaming down my face thinking back to that day. I never in my wildest dreams anticipated keeping my promise to Mother would be this hard. I have to save Goobert so I can continue to keep that promise. I push myself to my limit as I keep flying.)

Delilah, you're leaving us behind, just saying! (Gosh, I keep leaving Benji and Lucy behind...I don't want to slow down, but I don't want the two of them to end up lost. I quickly make sure I'm not going so fast that they don't lose me.)

Steph then looks around for any training-dummies in the area and focuses on one, trying to make her Psychic work once more... "Is it working?" she asks quietly

Oh ho...oh. Well, that took some decent effort to parry that attack and keep him off of me, keeping in mind to not drag my bad leg around too significantly. I can tell he's holding back, though, as I'm just as much doing the same for my leg. Even still, to be back at it and in the midst of at least a small spar makes me feel more confidence in what I can and can't do, evident with a slight grin. Marsha offering that compliment also helps.

I'd say the same about you, sir. How about another go?

While Alice sinks herself into her training after giving Steph a nod a Malamar slinks out and happens to meet Dinah as Alice does so.

   Oh, I didn't see you there for a second. Are you another of the students here today?   

On a boat

Well, you could say that. Just watch yourself when in a confrontation with her. If she starts talking about her "love"...and you being her "child"...she's onto you, and you'd need to find a way out of there.

Once again, Heinrich tenses up to attack, giving Marlon a much longer window of opportunity than he would an opponent without a major injury.

"Ah, well, that would be because Hail is an innate ability of our species, not a move that requires tutoring to fully utilise. As so."

Sure enough, Philo casually conjures up a thin drizzle of hail - not enough to cause any pain, just enough to be noticeable - in mid-speech. There are no visible signs of effort or concentration on his part.

(Another strike and the Kommo-O was pushed back again. It may be only the first few attacks, but that Aromatisse can hold her own, I thought to myself. Regardless, the dragon looked at her.) Not bad.

(Kenzo puts his arms together and light began to form between his hands. As soon as it took form of a ball of energy, he released it at Hikari.)

Kenzo used Flash Cannon!

"Sure!" Bailey says to Stanley. "I think I'm getting the hang of this."

"Yeah, that sounds good!" says Rex. "I think we're getting the hang of this."

"..Oh!" he adds, smiling, upon realizing that he and Bailey said almost the same thing at the same time. "Heh... You and I do make a good team, don't we?"

(Stanley chuckles at the two saying basically the same exact thing at the exact same time and goes to set the dummy back up. The rattling of another nearby dummy alerts him to what Steph is doing.) Keep it up there! (He says, waving and nodding at her.)

(Then he sets the original dummy back up.) There you are, you're all set! There's plenty more moves I can teach you! I'll tell you about 'em while you keep practicing.

In fact, I should teach you some more defensive moves for the sake of protecting yourselves when Protect won't help you. (Stanley says. He turns to Rex.) For you, the simple act of curling up into a ball like your species is enough, though I'm sure you've done that plenty of times already.

(Then to Bailey he adds:) I can't really show you how it works myself, but I have a Drifblim buddy of mine who was a master of evading attacks thanks to his use of Minimize. Have you heard of that move?

( OH MY GOODNESS, where did he come from?! I hope he didn't see me jump when he spoke to me.) Oh! You startled me! Erm, yes I am. Are you another trainer?

Leaving Blissparce

Eesh, this lady's a certified weirdo. (Cortez says, disgusted.)

Well, bzz, it'll probably help if we can get each other away from her if it comes to that, right? Bzz? (Maran says.)

Bailey shrugs.

"This is all very new to me. Sorry. But I'm really glad to be learning these moves. What is Minimize? And a Drifblim... that's similar to me, isn't it?"

As like before I peddle back about five steps or so and get into the best defensive position I can, using subtle gestures to indicate I'm already prepared to go into whichever method I might use in order to dodge this attack. Before I lock my eyes forward back at the Meinshao I cast an aside glance toward the old fox, who seems to be teaching Dana.

Wonder what they're up to?

Regardless of who answers, I look back forward, lock in, ready for Heinrich's next attack and how I intend to dodge. Carefully, of course.

Okay, bring it.

   Oh, dear me, my apologies, miss. I didn't mean to...oh, yes. I am another trainer here. Glad to have met another pokemon who shares one of my types. What Dark Moves do you know, before we begin? I have my own way of doing things, just so you know.   

On a boat

Well, you can certainly count on that. But it would be a complete team effort to make sure everyone gets out of the way in time. After what just happened? I barely know you lot but it would kill me if any of you get struck by her.

"Curling up into a ball?" says Rex, looking down at himself. Being still new to this form, the idea had actually not occurred to him until now. "Oh, you're right! It does look like I can do that....

Rex crouches down and tries curling up like Stanley said, using his head, limbs, and tail to cover up his soft stomach. He expected it to feel uncomfortable, but it's surprisingly easy, as if his new body was designed specifically to do this.

"Like this?" he says.
