Calling for: Turn Blondes Are Evil into a disambiguation page for the tropeable concepts present in other tropes.
^^ We've already moved on from that. Most of those trope ideas ran into tropeworthiness/people sit on chairs issues. The only one still on the table is the "nazis are blond" trope.
Suggested disambiguation page. Did I miss any tropes?
A link somewhere on the internet sent you to this page.
Blondes Are Evil is no longer a trope. You may be looking for one of the following:
- Alpha Bitch: Queen bees are often blondes.
- Delinquent Hair: Hair styles for outlaws or people who act rebellious, which can be blonde.
- Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Evil characters with an otherwise angelic appearance, which can include blonde hair.
- Hot Girls Are Bitches: Attractiveness as an indication of bad character, which can include blonde hair.
Please correct any wick to refer to the correct trope if they fit the definition.
I'm not quite sure what to make of the crowner, honestly. Those who voted apparently support disambiguating Blondes Are Evil, but not Blond Guys Are Evil for no clear reason despite them having the exact same problems. Are they saying they want only 1 disambig page for both tropes, or that BGAE should be left alone? Which I don't think is really on the table; consensus in this thread hasn't moved from calling that trope chairs.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I'm pretty sure I believed we were saying we only want one redirect page, and were choosing what the name should be. In hindsight, that doesn't make as much sense as I thought...
So what do we do now? Rerun the crowner because half the people who voted misinterpreted it? Call for mod fiat?

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"This still hasn't gone anywhere. I've made a new single-prop crowner to clarify this.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"New crowner is hooked.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportWell, this is looking definitive. Calling for 1 disambiguation page.
Alright, I've turned Blondes Are Evil into a disambiguation page and redirected Blond Guys Are Evil to it, added a note to the discussion pages and submitted their subpages to the cutlist.
Then we can commence the part everyone likes: wick cleaning. Courtesy links. BGAE is currently at 1767 wicks, BAE at 1677 wicks.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I'm just wondering...if evil blondes are People Sit On Chairs, would the same apply to Bald of Evil?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsIn a word, no.
In more detail: Appearance tropes can have meaning, it's just that the appearance thing by itself does not convey any meaning. Things like Bald of Evil and Beard of Evil are patterns that are often played up. Why blond hair fails to really inform anything about a character's morality is because heroes or just as likely to be blond, and villains are just as likely to be black-haired.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I had a go at the A-B wicks for Blondes Are Evil, and it's not giving me a lot of hope that much of this can be salvaged. If anything it's worse than the misuse we've seen on the page. Most of it is a collection of:
- ZCEs
- "Character X is blonde, no mention about them being evil"
- "Character X is evil, no mention about them being blonde"
- "Okay, Character X is not really evil, but..."
- "Character X averts this."
And my personal favorite:
- "Character X is blonde and evil, but they weren't blonde before and they were already evil back then anyway."
The scant few that do provide enough context are simply People Sit On Chairs. So far there have been maybe two examples were the context in the example itself was sufficient to discern that it's clearly an Alpha Bitch character, but in both cases they had already had their separate entries.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Haven't seen much to salvage when I did some wicks, either. However, there was a case or two where I merged the BAE/BGAE entry with another, as it added context to the latter.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI've sorted out the Evil Blonde examples, so the redirect can be removed. I didn't find any there that could be salvaged. I think there was one that might possibly have been relevant to another trope, but it was wordy zero context, and I didn't know the work, so I just deleted it. Everything else was what the rest of you are finding - zero context examples, and characters that are either not blonde, or not evil, or the hair colour just isn't relevant to the role they're playing.
I have noticed Evil Blonde being set up against Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold and Evil Redhead, however. Are the latter two still relevant as tropes?

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. The latter definitely needs it's own thread to examine it and see how healthy it is and if the examples manage to stand up. It was very much a trope once upon a time, but I'm unsure if it's still relevant to modern works.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickEvil Redhead is another comparison I've been finding, too. I can see potential problems with that, too given that we have tropes like Red-Headed Hero as well.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Yeah, what I'm seeing is largely "People have common hair colours. These people can be either good or evil."
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickBlondes Are Evil is now under 1000 wicks.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"It's now down to 600.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I see a lot of that too. It makes example writing a chore, especially if both show up in the same bloody Work.
"Uh, Bob has red hair and it highlights his heroism because reasons. Alice demonstrates how vicious and cruel she is with her red hair because it represents evil?"
Generally speaking, "Character has an ordinary hair color" should probably be People Sit On Chairs.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Ordinary hair and eye colors both should be axed. We can keep things like glowing eyes, weird unnatural colours, and colour changes, but just hair being hair should go.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickRed hair being evil is an old superstition, so I can see that staying if the red hair of the character is commented as unusual and/or villainous. But if the hero also has red hair, then its probably not an example.
Maybe cursed red hair could be the title.

Disambiguating for Blondes Are Evil is nearly complete. Blond Guys Are Evil meanwhile is now under 1200 wicks.

Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
A generalized Appearance Foil Antagonist (maybe a better title...?) sounds like a good idea.
That being said, though, the trope of not-so-nice blonde people exists:
...etc.
