What If⌠Yugi Still Had Exodia?

âMy ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.âSounds like the source on that is the editor's rear end, oshawott.
Alright, thanks y'all, I'm removing the entries.
"Letâs see whoâs stronger: someone that has something to protect, or someone that has nothing to lose."I recently imagined KaibaCorp or Industrial Illusions having video game help lines and/or Duel Monsters help lines.
Kaibaâs would probably be something like âKeep trying and maybe youâll get close to being on my levelâ, while Pegasus would give actual advice but first quiz you on Funny Bunny trivia.
The Protomen enhanced my life.So if Bandit Keith is the former American champion, does that mean he lost the title to Rebecca, who's introduced as the current US champ?
The Protomen enhanced my life.Yeah, but whether it was because he legitimately lost to her or just didn't show up to defend his title (given his state both after his duel with Pegasus and Duelist Kingdom) could be up for debate.
Wake me up at your own risk.I'm watching Leverage: Redemption and the sixth episode revolves around a card game. The villain of the week is a Corrupt Corporate Executive who is trying to beat one of the heroes in said card game. And one of the cards he uses is called "Blue-Eyed Dragon".
Finally onto Volume 10.
- Flame Swordsman being Jonouchiâs strongest card just reminds me of the power creep the series goes through.
- Guess Mai forgot about her little aromatic trick.
- Introducing the Legendary Red-Eyes Black Dragon. Considering the history BEWD and Dark Magician end up being given, I wonder what backstory REBD couldâve had.
- Glad Jonouchi didnât have to sell it, but it sucks he ended up losing it anyway.
- Congratulations Ryuzaki, you played yourself.
- Either Mai is really grateful Ryuzaki didnât get Time Wizard or she forgot which side she was on.
- Thinking about it they would have been screw if Mai didnât show up, with Jonouchiâs luck that mushroom probably was poisonous.
- âThereâs a creepy guy lurking around hereâŚâ. You really shouldnât make jokes like that, the universe might take you seriously.
- Return of the Cam Gramps.
- Aww, sheâs playing matchmaker.
- See, this is the universe at work. But seriously PaniK, what the hell. Were you auditioning for a doujin or something?
- The fact Yugiâs response was getting the other guy was sad, especially adding in later details.
- Yeah, Iâm sticking with PaniK. The Player Killer of Darkness is too much.
- âIâve taken the lives⌠I mean, the star chips⌠of eight people tonight alone!â Actually wouldn't be surprised if PaniK did kill people, and I doubt anyone would care.
- âPegasus is a pretty stingy guyâ, guess thatâs the real reason he didnât provide accommodations for the duelists.
- At some point betting your life is going to get old.
- Huh, so it was a wire instead of flamethrowers.
- Itâs funny seeing Castle of Dark Illusions after the functioning snow replica Shugomaru made.
- Okay forget PaniK, might just start calling him Ansem.
- Psychological warfare is a go.
- All this hanging imagery makes me remember when this episode was basically a PSA about bullying (and threats of Yugi being incinerated), good times.
- Nope, not going to question the logic of Ansem attacking his own monster.
- âWhat is that⌠hanging in the air?!â. Swords of Light. Yugi literally just said that, heck heâs was screwing with you this entire time with that card.
- Think the Catapult Turtle strategy might be the most famous moment of early Yu-Gi-Oh bs. Iâve actually seen t-shirts about it.
- Good thing no oneâs around to enforce the rules.
- Jonouchi has it right, pissing people off is a great way to get people to do what you want. Also, my ship.
- You only have yourselves to blame for waiting so long. With that said, itâs funny how the only the about this situation that managed to piss Kaiba off was the damage to his card.
- Bakura is a braver man than me, because I wouldnât even be touching the Millennium Ring after everything that happened.
- If was at risk of losing a card Iâd go after it too.
- My ship.
- Well at least Jonouchi did a bit of damage before losing.
- Card Professor?
- Okay, Bandit Keith deserved what he got for the pedophile quip.
- Feel like thereâs an easy joke about Nice Guy Pegasus, but I like to think the was something genuine there.
Card Professor is a term for an elite American duelist, and was used more extensively in Yu-Gi-Oh! R with a whole bunch of them.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I kinda wish R got an mini anime one day.
The hype on the internet that would explode from Joey defeating an evil Egyptian card would be insane and it'd help explain Bandit K....wait Keith's technically alive now, right? Well at least by the end of the series?
He's alive in the anime, dead in the original manga. R is a different continuity, after all.
Other than a quick cameo in the Orichalcos season, he's completely unused in the anime after the end of Duelist Kingdom. However, he did become a major player in one of the video games, Reshef of Destruction. He's also used fairly often among the various video games based upon the DM era. A lot tend to be based around Battle City... which he wasn't in, which makes it odd when he's there(ROD aside, since that's a more specific case). At least one game(I think it was Sacred Cards) reenacted his duel against Yugi, so that was kind of neat? It also helps he's gotten cards throughout the series and is a very popular Machine duelist(if not the only major one in the DM era that's worth noting), whereas there are others who use some Machines, but they barely duel(Tristan, two of the Big Five), or use a lot of other stuff as is(Marik, Kaiba). Orichalcos as is isn't exactly the most popular anyway, and only one user is a strict Machine one(Alister), while another user might be Machine-related(the Armor cards)?
It's not hard to see why, really. He made a much bigger impact than the only other pure Machine duelist(who was still a one-season wonder).
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Speaking of Machines, with their RPG ruleset quirk of being completely immune to magic, I wonder if that would have given Keith a shot (heh) at beating Pegasus. They'd probably do better against the Illusion monsters but I doubt he'd get that far, since Toons were an x-factor and unknown to everyone.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Random thoughts that everyone else probably realized but not me because I'm a dumbass.
The Lost Incident canonically occurred 10 years before the events of Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, and the Ignis were born from that incident, meaning they can't be older than 10.
The Ignis are pretty much literal children. Their behavior makes so much more sense through that lens, Lightning's in particular since he's basically a psychotic brat throwing a temper tantrum. Earth is the shy kid, Flame is the kid trying to act more mature but is still a big dork, Ai is the goofball, and Aqua is the sensitive one. Vegeta: I'm back bitches!
Volume 11:
- Jonouchi is taking the loss pretty hard.
- Think Bandit Keith is jealous that he will never be as fabulous as Pegasus.
- And thereâs dead soldiers buried on the island, guess they will have company with some duelist corpses.
- Keith channels his inner Bastion. No, it would be the other way right?
- For shame, a guy canât even piss in peace on this island.
- Well if there any indication that Keith is a Murican outside the bandanna, it would be how much he swears.
- Huh, didnât think there was a specific war intended. Turns out it was the Pacific.
- And his friend are going in on the âJonouchi is a dogâ joke.
- Weird, I donât remember Call of the Haunted being this good IRL. >_>
- Canât win them all Time Wizard.
- Yugi used the puzzle to find Jonouchi, think this happened before when Jonouchi got got kidnapped.
- And another solo victory for our growing duelist.
- Turns out the the best way to gather Star Chips is to beat the shit out of people.
- Yami should really voice any concerns he currently feeling.
- Good thing Bandit Keith forced them to go down there otherwise Iâd the Meikyu Brothers would have been bored this entire tournament.
- Takahashi forgot he gave Axe Raider an Attack boost.
- Wait, did Yugi just read the younger brotherâs mind?
- Not sure if twins is the right word there, but more importantly Pegasus creating Gate Guardian just for the Basement Brother is kinda amazing since the other Player Killer didnât seem to get that.
Fun fact: the skeletons are changed to props in the anime, as part of Pegasusâ mind games against his âhonored guests.â
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."...I mean, what other combo monster could Panik have gotten? Outside of making Barox an actual fusion, which didn't really fit the point behind him using generally level 5 Fiends, soooooo.
Not that I wouldn't have loved him having a true ace card. Maybe Castle of Dark Illusions was a special card given to him instead? It seemed way more notable than others. Chaos Shield too. Both had a rather strong combo effect that only failed because Yami Yugi had just the right card(Catapult Turtle) for the situation. You know, the usual "protagonist-only privilege", etc.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Volume 12:
- Some of the speech bubbles are weird. Donât know if this has happened before, but itâs noticeable here.
- No seriously, not sure how Bakura is okay with holding the Ring.
- Duel is won, time for the game of wits.
- Bad Bakura, the moment the creepy voice came back you drop the Ring and warn everyone.
- Seriously is Bakuraâs behavior not raising any red flags for these guys?
- TIL that duralumin is a thing.
- âOh? Youâre approaching me?â
- You should probably explain these rules before starting, but I guess it doesnât matter since Kaiba still insists on being a dick.
- âYugi⌠Fighting you again⌠âŚMakes my heart beat faster.â Stop fueling the fujoshi Kaiba.
- And for some reason Dark Magician decided to wag his finger at Kaiba, not sure why but itâs appreciated.
- âSomething feels wrong, but Iâm gonna charge headfirst at it anywayâ.
- According to Jonouchi, Kaiba just committed a war crime.
- My boy, Kuriboh.
- Youâd think Kaiba would assume Yugi would have a strategy before immediately talking shit about the little guy.
- When in doubt threaten to commit suicide. -_-
- Nice knowing you Kaiba, Iâm sure Mutous wonât have a problem looking after Mokuba. Will take some tell to explain how you slipped and fell off the castle though.
- But seriously, screw you Kaiba.
Yami Bakura has plot armor; that's why. XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.Volume 13:
- Weird, Kaiba was more affected by was Anzu (and Jonouchi) said than I remembered.
- Keith raises a interesting point, but Kaiba ainât having it.
- Mai repays her debt and a nice speech from Jonouchi, plus him KOing the guard was a bonus.
- Starting to think 50% of the swearing in the first series comes from Keith alone, Jonouchi probably makes up a good chunk of the rest though.
- Looks like Croquet has been drinking his milk, youâd never notice he lost a tooth when Kaiba manhandled him.
- BETD really is adorable.
- What Kaiba needs is a big barrel of Dip.
- Meanwhile plenty of kids were disappointed Toon werenât that broken irl.
- The sentiment of the Mercy Kill was nice, but there are card Pegasus could have used to bring it back.
- Honda is right, but screwed Seto.
- Did I forget about Jonouchi beating up Keith, or the the anime not adapt that bit?
- Someday Yugi.
Volume 14:
- Guessing this was what Gramps was getting at.
- I know this is supposed to be serious, but Catapult Turtle firing Harpiesâ Pet Dragon into Mirror Wall is really funny to me for reason.
- Guessing Machine monster would also be immune to Shadow of Eyes going by this reasoning.
- Stop being mean to Kuriboh.
- Wait, when did Yugi get Mystical Moon in his hand?
- And with this Mai saves the day once again.
- Do all Machine monsters have anti-magic armor or just specific ones?
- Alcohol and drugs, the real American dream.
- Too bad they didnât make another bet, kinda wish Jonouchi got Barrel Dragon.
- The scene with Red Eyes Metal Dragon coming back is one of those moments from the anime that lives rent free in my head.

âMy ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.âJoey beating Keith, yeah. Just barely, mind you. Keith only had a major advantage(in the anime at least) by constantly adding cards from his sleeves to his hand and switching them out. So basically an illegal version of Card Shuffle.
Keith reappears with the same strategy when controlled by Marik in the anime only too. This time he has a mechanical tool to do the card-swapping. It's at this point that Ritual Monsters now have a proper Ritual Monster card instead of being some weird special summon that "exists". It makes no sense either. Assumedly it gets special summoned from the Deck/Hand/Graveyard or even is an extra deck card or something during just Duelist Kingdom. After that, it's more accurate.
All Machines have anti-magic. That's why they were rarely in Duelist Kingdom's anime, due to being a story-breaker power overall. This is outright dropped after it, but that might be a DK-only odd rule. I don't remember if the Field Spell oddity is dropped too, but they became actual grabbable spells instead of being part of the overall field you fight at later on. I think A Legendary Ocean was at least played once by Mako in Battle City.

...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Meant beating up. My memory of it is Keith getting in and out of the room with no issue.
âMy ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.âJoey never beat up Keith, no. Unless that was a Japanese anime only moment. Definitely not in the dub(which for the most part is the same even when expanded upon later instead of having the 4kids shortened episodes with some admittedly great music).
At least it explains the weird moments with the life points(though accurately Mirror Force's first use was calculated differently so Weevil didn't immediately lose to Yami Yugi). But the Panik fight looked accurate either way?
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.
I'm interested in this a swell, as it seems to had spawned from thinking that the GX cast were meant to parallel the DM one (and that Alexis specifically was specifically meant to parallel Tea, as in be a love interest) mixed with the usual shipping fervor. It def seems like urban legends.
