Chapter 4 released!

It was really cheesy, but All Might knows how to deliver cheesy.

For me it felt more like Narm Charm if anything

It has an interesting art style.

The length of that one guy's neck bothers me a little, but other than that I like how "sharply" he's drawn in contrast to everyone else.

Volume 1 is apparently sold out. Holy shit.

This is fun so far.

It will be another replacement for Naruto now that it's ended.

After seeing the news of Volume 1 selling out and how it's doing in the rankings, I finally gave this a look.

It's good. Not exactly something that instantly blows me away, but it's pretty good where it is now and definitely has the capability to get even better. The biggest draw for me is Midoriya, a protagonist who knows exactly what he wants to strive for and will pull Mt. Everest to the sun's core to achieve it. Certainly not reinventing the wheel, but it's done well enough to give that "feel-good" feeling to make such a character so strong and likeable.

The American superhero aspect is also really cool, and a definite lure for someone who's grown up with Marvel/DC like myself. I especially love the cover homage from Ch. 2; Horikoshi really did his homework making it look legit. It also helps that the heroes actually seem to be genuine in wanting to help people and encourage the next generation of heroes. The other times I've seen a premise like this the "heroes" are corrupt supercops living off fame/money/influence, so the sincerity is nice.

....I'm gonna take it the scanlation is behind, given that it's been running for a couple months, but I have no idea what chapter it's up to in Japan. Hopefully it catches up though.

I found out about this today via a rec thread on /a/. This is some good stuff here. Nothing really big or amazing, but it's pretty great for what it is. This is from the guy behind Barrage, which ended far earlier than it should have; I'm glad he seems to be doing well now. I'll definitely follow this.

I heard the series is around 12 chapters behind, although I'm not sure how reliable that source is.

The latest chapter I saw on raw.senmanga yesterday was 18. So yeah, the scanlation is quite behind.

I was expecting this series to turn out like Ratman (which also seems to be on indefinite hiatus in terms of scans), where the MC is out to prove that true heroes exist despite the corruption.

Yeah i really like the protagonist

The Chinese scanlation already reached Chapter 18. It's rather ironic when you think much deeper about it.

CHAPTER 8 IS OUT!

I feel Deku's outfit would look better without the ears, so hopefully Katsuki blows the other ear off.

Yeah, those ears makes the whole mask look like a rabbit version of The Maxx. I'd have no problems with Deku (lol) getting another mask that gets rid of them.

I was about to talk about how I found one comment of the scanlator group trying to do a chapter a week, and how said commitment, while admirable, would make them eternally behind, but then they shot 8 out, so there goes that.

This school has managed to create a controlled and educational version of the Marvel Team-Up. That is fucking hysterical.

Finally, Bakugou is a douchebag. To be this committed to bullying one guy is borderline-supervillain levels of dick. He's lucky his costume and oversized-grenade cuffs are so awesome.

Bakugou is on the fast track to supervillain-dom, no question about it. I expect him to be defecting to the Evil Ccounterpart school by the end of the year.

I was expecting Deku's costume to be red or green, but I was a little surprised to find that it's actually blue◊.

And yeah, the grenade cuffs were a fine design choice.

I like Kacchan's character so far. If I can trust my knowledge in manga and anime character psychology, I can see his dickish behavior as some kind of tsundereism. He secretly admires Izuku's hardworking, never giving up attitude, but is way too proud to admit that Izuku is somehow superior than him.

Now, all we need is him getting into trouble and got saved by Izuku once more. Then we'll have our bromantic Ho Yay-tastic hero partners. Or Foe Yay-tastic hero-villain rivals. Either way I can already see the BL with these two.
