Self-Demonstrating Character Pages

The moments pages for ComicBook.Thanos have the same problem.

,That's because in both those cases, the SelfDemonstrating/ page existed before the ComicBook/ page. Those subpages should be re-written to not be self-demonstrating.

Granted there's been a lot of talk about a project to turn these Comic Book pages into actual work pages and not glorified character pages, but that can be worried about after everything is cleaned up.

The Trivia and YMMV pages for Thanos don't have first person language, so they don't need to be worried about.

So 5 days have passed since the Chun Li and Cody Travers pages have been brought up, and 4 people (Larkmarn, myself, Sapphire, and rjd) are explicitly in favor of cutting them; is it okay if I (or constanton, if they want to) Cut List them, or should we wait 2 more days?

Yeah, you can go ahead and cutlist them.

Should we establish a time limit so we don't have to ask this every time?

What about Captain Falcon?

We should probably wait a little longer on that one, because there are 3 votes to cut it (Larkmarn, myself, and Sapphire) and 1 to keep (bwburke).

@bwburke: That sounds like a good idea; for starters, I'd say an example is fine to cut if it's been up for 5 days and there are 4 people to cut, expanding on Larkmarn's orginal proposal.

I also vote to keep Captain Falcon.

My agreement was specifically for the second batch, by the way. I’d have to go back and look at the first batch to see if I agree with those calls.

I'd also vote to cut Captain Falcon, since, while it's fun, it doesn't seem to be based on actual canon.

So we're fine with cutlisting pages which have 4 votes to cut after 5 days have passed, right? If so, I can cutlist Gill, Guile, Guy, and Hanzo Hasashi.

Probably. The only one that got additional comments was Dracula.

If I had known that most of my SD's would be deleted, maybe I wouldn't have done them. If at least five of my articles survive the purge, I'd be surprised.

When one of the pages cut is Hanzo Hasashi, there's clearly a bias towards my posts.

We're not biased against your pages specifically. We're biased against pages that lack a distinct voice beyond just being first person with maybe a few snarky jokes or the like.

In fact, we tried to tell you about these problems here but you chose to interpret our warnings as being about the quantity, not the quality.

Maybe we can set a threshold, like, the good ol' rule of 3— must get 3 net votes to cut, votes open for 3 days? And people need to specifically state what they're voting for/against, not just an "everything X said".

Or we could use a crowner like the one in the real life cleanup thread.

As for the voting discussion, I wouldn't be opposed to formalizing it more or at least presenting less pages at a time to discuss. With how many pages were mentioned, it's not surprising people (like myself) didn't pitch in very much. These things are best taken one at a time.

Crowners might be the way to go.
