Click here to see the teaser for the movie.

So, this is Gen Urobuchi's latest film project with Toei Animation. It seems that they are going the all-CG route judging from the teaser, which will inevitably lead to a Broken Base. Still, with Seiji Mizushima (of Gundam 00 and Fullmetal Alchemist fame) at the helm, it could be interesting.

By the way, is it me or does the film's title reek of bad omens for its characters? Given this is the Urobutcher we're talking about, I got a bad feeling that shit will hit the fan once again...

[up] Given all the names you mentioned, it be would be more surprising if it DIDN'T hit the fan.

Double that after seeing the trailer.

[down] Yeah. I doubt the trailer was that informative even if you speak Japanese. About all got I was that the blond girl was probably the mc and they had some sci-fi tech.

Urobuchi must have been busy as hell for the past year. This thing, Aldnoah.Zero, Psycho-Pass season 2...

But yeah, could be good, I suppose. Not really enough to go by just from the trailer.

Well, the movie came out and Kotaku has given this flick a positive review. They said that it's pretty much Dances with Wolves (not unlike Avatar and The Last Samurai) as far as the plot goes but otherwise praised the film for its setting and excellent 3D animation. Thoughts from anyone who saw the movie?

[up][up]Psycho Pass 2 is not written by Urobutcher, but by Tow Ubakata (of Mardock Scramble) and Jun Kumagai (whose main credits are the two best episodes of Zankyo no Terror, Persona 4 the Animation and... Valvrave. Oy).

The CGI looks pretty good. Arpeggio of Blue Steel and Knights of Sidonia showed that anime can have CGI that is above PS 2-cutscene level (although it's pretty obvious that Polygon blew their budget on the massive Gauna battles). This is a positive step for anime to take.

he's trying to say something... Like humanity might not be perfect, but letting go completely of what makes humans human is much MUCH worse.

Thaaaat's our Boochi!

Note the timestamp on that post. At the time of writing, I don't think the writer of PP 2 was known.
