Eh...the judgemental speech Storm gives To Rogue is pretty cringy.
also they killed off main characters left and right
New theme music also a boxand I will agree with.
Is there any reason Doug dumped the old card artist in favor of plastering his face on everything? It’s nowhere near as enticing.
they may have quit
New theme music also a boxThey've never really explained it but apparently videos with thumbnails depicting the producer's face get more views on YT.
The original title card artist is actually from the same country as me, so I asked him once why he had stopped doing the thumbnails and he replied that CA had simply stopped commissioning them. I think money might've been the issue—from what I've heard, Michaud was often late with payments for the artist and Doug had to intervene several times on his behalf.

Just a person. He/him."The charts say..."
I believe the last drawn titlecard Doug had was for the final episode of To Boldly Flee. After Demo Reel and the reboot, it was strictly photoshopped title cards from then on.
He had a drawn card for the 8 Crazy Nights review. Not really a fan of him dropping the drawn cards though (didnt like it when AVGN and Phelous stopped doing it either).
Yeah, I agree, the drawn title cards have more personality.
Just a person. He/him.X-Men: The Last Stand - First Viewing
According to youtube (and Marketing jn general i guess), the best thumbnails are a closeup on a face, mouth wide open. Esp if its the host.
In the case of AVGN though, Mike Matei said his workload with editing videos was getting to big, so he stopped doing them.
(Watches "first viewing" video).
Rob rarely makes me laugh, but I cracked up on the "Take the picture!" comment.
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.Same. I’d love to talk to the people who say that’s what they look for, Doug’s scowl, and ask why that gets your eye.
I feel like I'm less likely to click on thumbnails like that.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireWho still has drawn title cards made? Off the top of my head, there's Linkara, Todd in the Shadows, The Rap Critic, The Cinema Snob... there's probably a few I'm missing, but most have transitioned to using photoshopped thumbnails. I guess it's probably quicker and cheaper to do than to commission an artist to make title cards on a consistent basis.
I know Cryaotic uses fanart for his videos, if not quick doodles that he makes himself.
It's been 3000 years…Diamanda Hagan, Bennett the Sage, and Brandon Tenold still use them too.
Just a person. He/him.As an aspiring artist, I once tried to offer making illustrated title cards for Lauren Francesca, and she asked me to send in some kind of "test" drawing, so I did artwork of her opening gifts (she occasionally does videos of opening presents from fans). She complained I didn't make her look "hot enough", and didn't like that I drew her with glasses (even though she actually does wear glasses in many of her videos). I offered to do another test title card artwork for her, but never heard back.

If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them. You know, this movie is awful (and sexist, and racist), but the concept in itself isn't even that bad. With some tweaking it could be a pretty depressing but psychological compelling movie.
... having never been an X-Men fan, and only having seen half the movies featured this month, I haven't been invested in the reviews at all. I sat through this one today, but only to be mildly interested in how it went, and because I DID see Deadpool 2, so i was in on that scene of his reveal. Hell, I laughed more at the Devil May Cry 5 commercial than any other point in this review combined.
X3 was far from perfect but I will always respect it's handling of the Cure storyline. The people who took it weren't demonized for it and at the same time forcing it on someone is shown as wrong.
