[lol] Thanks for the thought, but I think...nah, no need.

We just look spiffy. No wonder people would steal our looks. I mean, look at this suit.

And the sunglasses. How can you not look spiff enough for people to want to copy you when you're wearing Foster Grants?

How do the location changing works? I'm confused why there'd be a need for making a list for it, moreover one that needs editing... :S

The list is just for fun, to figure what's there and what they're referring to. You certainly don't have to participate in the list-making if you don't want to, and it won't affect anything of import, and everything will go back to normal when the April 1 i-day is over. smile

The location-changing is a little subtle, considering that there are people who have weird locations anyway.

Hmm...I don't see how "Zurich, Switzerland" and "Valle di Muggio" are weird locations - maybe my future location "Pyrgos Pyronesia".

I didn't notice the location changes at the start, either.

[up][up][up][up][up]Oooohhh, I see smile Though what I really meant was that I expected whomever came up with the locations ot have them written down somewhere, so why would random tropers be needed to write it down was confusing for me tongue Though I did want to edit some of those, but I don't know what most of them are references for sad

The mods came up with them and wrote them down, but part of the fun is us, the regular troper body, trying to figure out what they came up with.

@25: Ah. That it's a reference to the Jim Lowe song would certainly be more in keeping with the current content policy! Though I'm not sure what it says about me that my first thought at seeing "behind the green door" was the adult film of the same name. Besides that I'd not previously heard of the Jim Lowe song. (Not sure that this particular alternate, if "equally valid" (to borrow Madrugada's words), interpretation is one of which to be proud!)

I have a new favourite location, by the way: "Theory — and everything works here!" (Can I stay here? It's so much nicer than that tiresome Practice place where almost nothing works.)

EDITED TO ADD: In a somewhat more family-friendly instance of alternate references, I've found three for Xanadu - not sure which was the intended one. Perhaps all of them?

[up]That's the one I tried to trace the origin so I could understand the reference, but the best I could get to was Madrugada, so I'm not sure if he's the origin of it or not.

Which? "Theory — and everything works here"? I used a variant of it ("I don't know where "Theory" is, but I want to live there. Everything works in Theory.") as my very first sigline here, way back when. But I stole it shamelessly from a t-shirt a friend of mine had, and he stole it from a sign in the engineering building at his college, so there's no telling where it actually originated. (By the way, that's the "and one more that can be connected to a particular mod, but also refers to something in Real Life. " one I mentioned here in the Yack Fest Thread.)

Xanadu: The person who suggested that never specified which one they were thinking of. Full points for finding three possibilities.[awesome]

We do have the list we compiled while we were coming up with them. We did not however, think to also list what they were from or in reference to. It didn't occur to anyone that y'all might try to figure out the references. Silly us.tongue

The list is missing one location I got. Sadly I remember only very vaguely that it ended with dooooooooown... Anyone remembers this one?

Bottom of the list: "with the sweet cream icing flowing dowwwwwwwwwwwwn"?

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
