Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules (in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

It is a bit weird coming back after not being active for a while, and seeing the various changes (namespaces retiring, new EB approaches, even some website improvements that had been wanted for a while)
What are you happiest about?
I'd like to apologize for all this.I never really enjoyed the banhammer for people who just needed some more time and attention. A lot of appreciation to the mod team for making that concerted effort.
Another large change is the Complete Monster / Magnificent Bastard threads 2.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI heard about that, yeah.
I’m personally very happy about being able to see both TLP draft histories and individual user TLP histories. A few times I’ve used it to find pre-launch drafts that got lost due to glitches that I’ve then posted on the discussion tabs of the launched tropes.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallFunny thing is that I used to confuse Tabs and Twiddler so I always forgot Twiddler wasn't a mod. So I was right on accident! Congrats!
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Random topic: How many threads to y'all have followed?
I'm personally pretty conservative when it comes to following thread. I'm following five, three of which are for an RP I'm in and two are threads I created.
Welcome to Ideal's WorldEvery time I need to do some cleanup, I follow the dedicated thread for a short while. I'm currently following two of those, and eight other threads that are relevant to my interests.

I'd like to apologize for all this.Um... a lot. Most of them are inactive forum games.

"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."When I make a comment in a thread I'll usually (but not always) follow it, to keep track of any replies I might get or further discussions.
Ugh, you can tell how old Mass Effect pages and examples are just by looking at them. Natter, conversation on the main page, other violations. I'd try and start a cleanup project but I'm too lazy.

"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."From the few times I've looked, I remember having similar feelings about the pages for Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I feel like there's a lot of popular works that deserve better pages that just don't get attention because they're already so big.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever?I think the most egregious one like that might be My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and its numerous subpages: It got so large in such a short amount of time that you can pick out when the entries were written to very specific moments of the fandom.
Edited by harryhenry on Dec 25th 2022 at 3:58:58 AM
I think the number of subpages was cut back on a while back.
"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."The Nostalgia Critic also has that problem — you can notice when entries were written during the peak of weird, overly-personal fandom bitterness in 2013. Most older web series will have this issue.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Mass Effect in particular annoys me cause a lot of it is on the moments pages, which I regularly browse, and every time I see them I go "I've got to fix this." And then I never do.
"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."Speaking of MLPFIM, due to the permanent lock, its description feels pretty outdated for not mentioning the post-Season 2 stuff, the spinoffs like Equestria Girls and Pony Life, and Generation 5 taking place in the same setting after a long Time Skip. I know that stuff is mentioned in My Little Pony (Generation 4), but still.
THE GOLDEN AGE WILL RETURN AGAIN!The image caption and page quote especially feel like a time when "bronies" and the show itself were seen as this cute, weird thing.
I remember that I used to find it weird that the main page for that show never really evolved to reflect the changes over its run.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever? This particular change makes me very happy as well. Props to the newer mods who have the time and patience to put in that effort.
There's an MLP cleanup; people can probably work there on rewriting the definition if they so desire.
There is a G4 franchise page that describes all the spinoffs though.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I've been wondering why the FIM page is still locked, since the hate towards bronies has largely died down over the years.
, : Cheers! 🥂
