Which games does the HD collection include? Does it also have the PSP stuff?
1-3, the best ones.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally! Not a fan of Tools Of Distruction? That and Crack In Time were pretty good, I thought, if pretty clearly coasting.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.I wil admit despite setting up all the mechanics that would appear in the games after it, Ratchet And Clank 1 has a LOT of problems.
The platforming, while okay, could get pretty hard to manuever through, particularly the Magne-boot platforms, which were so narrow that you could easily fall of them by accident, and the lack of jumping really hurts them.
Also, it's much harder, almost to the point of unecessasarily, to get bolts and weapons in the game, particularly because there' no arena battles, which I feel are majors strengths to the later games just because they're so damn fun to play. I stil think the collection should of had Ratchet Dead Locked on it, it was one of my favorites.

Watch SymphogearDeadlocked was my first Ratchet and Clank game, and is one of my favorites. Still love those bots to death.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenYeah the first Ratchet did not age well. Currently finishing UYA and while the writing is better imo, GC's gameplay, worlds, and weapons just seem better. The UI was sexier too.
youtube.com/Fire Trainer 92I got the HD collection many months ago, but I've only now seriously been playing it. I'm almost at the end of the first game, which I think has aged fantastically. This is mostly nostalgia speaking, but I think it has a charm all the other games lack. It can get almost unfairly hard at times, though.
When that's done, it's off to 2. I never actually played that whole game, since my disc was all scratched. This will be a semi-new-ish experience.
Estimated shipping time: 2-4 weeks.I bought the HD collection last week. Kinda disappointed the controls weren't updated for the first game (spent so much time strafing in the other games I'm having a hard time returning to it) so I just started with the second, which I haven't played in a loooong time.
Then on to the third, which is my personal favourite.
I still think this cutscene from the second game kills my sides:

Watch Symphogear"Mommy...where do protopets come from?"
youtube.com/Fire Trainer 923 would easily be my favorite if the end game content was a bit more substantial. I mean between the Zodiac, Clank Zapper, and the RYNO I had more then enough new weapons to pine for. 3 only has the RYNO 3, which become useless once you fully upgrade it.
But goddamn if Up Your Arsenal wasn't the most fun I've had all year. I picked it up and I was 10 again, I didn't even miss a beat.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!I had defeated Doctor Nefarious and the Biobliterator.
While this game was my favorite of the Three, the Biobliterator was so disappointingly easy.
Also, when I tried to use the gold Morph-o-Ray, the chickens made were so big it somehow glitched out the game and caused it to freeze.
Never underestimate the power of chickens....

Watch SymphogearI got the HD collection about a week ago and man, I still love these games. After playing through all three again, Number 3 remains my favourite. There's just something satisfying and fun about it. I think it's because most of the weapons you get at the start can be taken through a good bit of the game, as opposed to 2, which had them fall off rapidly in their effectiveness. It also felt hard without being unfair about it (looking at you, R&C 1), and the checkpoints felt well placed. And, of course, it has my favourite villain in the series in it.
I guess we could go... wherever we please. The Rynocirator is really useless. It does just about no damage whatsoever, and hits nothing that's even slightly out of the camera's view.
Estimated shipping time: 2-4 weeks. Not too mention it's just plain not fun. There's no point in a shooter where you no longer shoot. Man, I wish there was a way to fix it.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!I like the Walloper and Quantum whip, though.
Watch SymphogearThe Walloper ranks among my favourite weapons in the series. The Quantum Whip, not so much. Give me a punching glove on steroids and I'll happily take it. Especially when the tiny mooks fly the way they do.
I guess we could go... wherever we please. The Walloper is Made Of Win. Really, all the close-range weapons are.

So it looks like we're getting another female villain. Interesting.
Wonder what that bomb weapon does.
Also, there appears to be a thread already.

Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.I have heard of Ratchet and Clank for years, but I've never played any of the games. At all. Amazon has the HD Collection for $19.96. Is it worth it? What should I expect in terms of gameplay? Does it have a lives system? (Like lose your lives and game over?)
Very yes, mixture of platforming, puzzle solving and third-person shooting and no lives system other than "you die, you try again at a checkpoint".
Played through Into the Nexus today. A little too short, but still really fun. Now I need to go back and get the RYNO 7 plan that I lack, plus the rest of the Gold Bolts.
I guess we could go... wherever we please.Ratchet & Clank games are generally 3D platformers with an emphasis on crazy weapons. I'd say getting the HD collecton would be worth it if you want to see how the gameplay progressed through the PS 2 trilogy. If you don't think returning to the PS 2 era in game design suits your tastes, there's always the 2 physical Ratchet & Clank Future games (which, despite the name, are just Ratchet & Clank games made specifically for the PS 3).
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Necro'd.
So. As You Know, there was an announcement for a legit Ratchet and Clank movie a few years back. So far, it's still happening, but now we have some info regarding the obligatory All-Star Cast (don't worry, we still have James Arnold Taylor, David Kaye, Jim Ward, and Armin Shimerman as the leads).:
We even have a confirmation on who's voicing the movie's Big Bad, Chairman Drek.
Say hello to Paul Giamatti as Chairman Drek!
Cue the cries of "I still have my ticket to the hype train!" and "I don't want my ticket to the hype train anymore."
