For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Alright, so tonight, we dare to try and survive The Escape Room.
The premise is admittedly intriguing for this sort of film (The similarly staged film Cube got a ![[awesome]](https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/minis/award_star_gold_3.png "[awesome]"){kind=small}
rating from us), but if a major studio had to bury a movie like this in a typically "dead" month like JANUARY, then that suggests that the end result was botched enough that they didn't have faith in this making back its budget.

...no, seriously, oh boy! I remember this being aight. Although I'm perhaps not as discerning as others here.
The Belko Experiment is pretty similar too.

This film may be okay, for all I know, but I only make assumptions based on the fact that movies that receive a theatrical release in January generally aren't released with the confidence that they will perform well at the box office.

I'm so very sorry. I have to call an audible. Bubba Ho-Tep, a movie released on YouTube's own official movie channel and designated "Free to Watch" has been taken down without notice just hours ago (not even paywalled, either, but completely scrubbed from the site).
While we'll try to set that one up again for a later date, tonight's movie will be what I was originally intending for tomorrow night: A stupidly gory, stupid Italian zombie movie called Burial Ground.
Don't ask me to explain anything that's going on in this thing... It seemingly follows no logic whatsoever.
The only other notable thing I can say about this one (apart from the bloody carnage) is that the film cast a very small, short man in his early 20's as a character who is clearly meant to be a ~10-year-old boy. It doesn't really work, but it'll become all too clear by the end of this movie why it would have been IMPOSSIBLE for them to cast a more authentic child actor...

Headless Body in Topless Bar is a genre now, it seems, and that genre now includes this movie. The "asshole traps a group of people in a room and psychologically tortures them and makes them confess to dark secrets" genre. Also includes Phone Booth and even The Ref (which my mom insisted the whole family watch). Or if you want to go there, Funny Games (which I did not watch, and whose reputation I'm well aware of).

Eh. It was okay. It really could have used more danger, as there were like, three perilous situations. The opening scene which has the kids strapped to the bottom of an elevator shaft hinted there would be a lot of excitement to come, but nah, it was more Investigating than anything.

Huh. Amy said that she just learned about Santa Claus and the Ice Cream Bunny, saying it has a reputation for being So Bad, It's Good. Thing is, we've seen it before, like 6 years ago. Before many of our new people joined and old ones left, so the time might be ripe for watching it again!
