For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Hey, friends.
May I drop a bad movie recommendation for future usage? The list is full, but oh man...
Has this kind of preteen schlock been covered yet? I think it was made to be riffed on, but it might be the relatively boring kind of bad for you guys.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018I'm having terrible flashbacks of Miley Cyrus and LOL at the very sight of Hilary Duff.
In other news... Where to begin with this one?
Well, uh, there's a pre-Star Trek: TNG Brent Spiner playing the lead role (his ONLY leading role ever in a motion picture), and... He's got a good number of crazy stories surrounding the movie's production.
For one, lunatic Italian director Gian Luigi Polidoro filmed the entire movie in and around New York City without any filming permits, meaning the production team would shoot scenes as quickly as possible then hightail it outta there before the NYPD or anybody could notice.
Moreover, the batshit director cast Elizabeth Stack in his movie, believing her to be the daughter of movie producer Ray Stark. Polidoro thought that when he'd eventually run out of money, he could get Stark to pick up the bill; needless to say, this was a huge blunder which made him pretty upset.
And then there's this quote sourced from a biography on Brent Spiner:
On top of all that, we got a synth soundtrack that sounds like it was lifted from Liquid Sky, with the added touch of some guy repeating the film title in a monotonous drone.
Submitted for your approval, I present you Rent Control... This is gonna suck!

You trying to fuckin' kill me, man?
War is God.In a word... Yes.
Just think over that block quotation for a moment, though. The film crew trashed a penthouse apartment in the course of a single night all the while forgetting to record just one important shot. And this one shot was SO needed that a scene as well as the movie as a whole simply could not work at all without it. I'm sure this movie is still bound to be a vapid, worthless waste of time, anyway, but the entire story being told hinged on returning to a trashed penthouse and swindling the pissed off owners in order to steal that massing shot. Otherwise, this entire movie seen by so few people would never have been possible.
...Or maybe the director was still just batshit insane.

Alright, anyway, we'll be getting started now with episodes of Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego? and Knightmare to get us in the rhythm of things.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, we put up with Rent Control. Because we hate ourselves.

I think Liquid Sky had better music. This is Liquid Sky Jr. Less boring, though.
I know I have weird taste in music.
The Seinfeld-themed video riffing it in the aftershow was brilliant.

Are we watching Carmen Sandiego on Tuesdays now?
'Cause I'm gonna be missing next Tuesday. :/
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyAnybody feeling bored enough to visit my room and, I dunno, watch stuff? :/
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyI'd be happy to add the chat filters (the colors, glow, fanciness, and special symbols) to your Cytube room if you'd like. I'd need moderator permission in order to do that, but I could do that. After work at least.
Btw, speaking of which, I discovered how to add Wingdings and Webdings to our chat. So I had fun adding a ton of new filters like {bomb} {movie} (think clapboard) {dove} {graduate} {spider} {thumbsup} {drink} and so many more I'd have to recheck the list to see them. I'll add them to our official chat filter list.

I'm just trying to mix things up as much as I can. Apart from Lexx, about the only thing in pre-show at the moment that I'm deliberately setting aside for a specific day of the week is Bad Influence on Saturdays, only to drag out this last bunch of episodes as long as possible.
Anyway, tonight we'll be looking to bring back some action and spectacle to our main show in the form of The Silent Force.
Without Nam Rood and Z Wright, and with Violet's new hairstyle, it's just not the same.
If you could add these to my room, that would be appreciated.
This is a signature.Sure. Send me a PM in about 4 hours or later. When I'm home from work.
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13456679170A21340100&page=467#11665 lists all the current chat features. Now includes hipster glasses and shades!
I'm thinking that our current hipster font should be modified to put the hipster glasses at the end every time it's used. Hmm...

Probably won't be here for the next three or four days. My nights are taken up.
please call me "XionKuriyama" or some variation, thanks! | What is the good deed that you can do right now?4x Z Wright always felt like the lowest person on the Bad Influence totem pole. And with that view fixed in my mind, Violet's taking over of the show's field story segments feels like a demotion.
Oh, by the way, that YouTube channel where that "Here I Am (Friends Forever)" video came from? Turns out the uploader has a surprisingly large collection of these music videos all performed in front of the same blue screen. And not all the 80's musicians and singers are COMPLETELY obscure, either. Kylie Minogue, Selena, and (my favorite) Jermaine Stewart (to name a few) all embarrassed themselves here.
Some embarrassed themselves more than others...
Dafuq? That guy looks like a cross between the baby Grinch and an anime character.
And I think I recognize the guy playing the invisible keyboard from Here I Am.
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyNah, they're two completely different sets of musicians. Mr. Flock of Seagulls there certainly was sporting some right impressive anime hair, though.
Anyway, we'll get thing rolling now with more of Retsupurae's slog through Sonic '06, and if that isn't enough to drive us to suicide, we'll be following that up with Nick Arcade.
But if we can get through that, we'll be rewarding ourselves with a showing of The Silent Force at the top of the coming hour.

I got a gif◊ out of tonight's movie! There was so much dumb in it, but this scene was some nice visual dumb.
Wait, are these two shots related ?
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.I'm joining, tomorrow. I have a great series for the aftershow.
This is a signature.Better believe it. I'm assuming they would've preferred to play up some kind of garroting trope, but somebody forgot to bring the prop with them before the film crew took the yaht out to sea. And so the scene was reworked as one of the most ludicrous Tap on the Head examples that can be found.
Curious. I'll be looking forward to that.
Anyway, we got a pretty good show to look forward to tonight, feauring the live-action Masters of the Universe movie, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor. Plus, Courtney Cox fresh from the cancellation of Misfits of Science and... Principal Strickland from Back to the Future.
A question for all. Outside of the Coven, what movies have you seen recently? In my case, Wild, which I reviewed here on this site, but I already talked about that one.
In the past few weeks, I've seen The Lego Movie, The Player, Caddyshack, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Despicable Me, The Princess and the Frog, Robin Hood (Disney version), part of Starman, and Bambi.

I remember liking The Princess and the Frog, but not thinking it was great. The song "Friends on the Other Side" was great.
Okay, what we got going on now is more of Retsupurae's slog through Sonic '06 and more of Legends of the Hidden Temple.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, we check out the 60's sci-fi B-movie (Attack of the) The Eye Creatures.
