Wait, why is Nerd Rage on the crowner?!
Nerd Rage is the pre-existing term for something akin to Internet Backdraft, which got its examples cut for a reason. Renaming Gannon-Banned into that will a) cause misuse for any sort of complaint and b) turn this into a repository of Internet Backdraft examples that we cut for a good reason.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAs I've been saying all along, the examples already are largely indistinguishable from those on Internet Backdraft. And since the voting public, in its great wisdom, has decided that they can stay, I figure we might as well call them what they are. It's not like the other options are any good anyway.

Added another item. Has anybody ideas that don't rely on misusing a term that means something else?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanRage About Mistakes? Wut?
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerBecause that is what Gannon-Banned is essentially about - an overrreaction to mistakes (such as the mispronunciation of Ganon as Gannon)
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanVotes bump. Also, having seen this I am now somewhat more positive about either name, even if we'll have to come back to TRS to get examples cut.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBump again, this isn't a very good ratio.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerNerd Rage makes me think of general geek rage towards anything, encompassing Ruined Forever, It's Popular, Now It Sucks!, They Changed It, Now It Sucks!, etc. I'm for either keeping the old name or something that actually describes the trope. The laconic would fit, something like Purist Fan Berserk Button or Fandom Berserk Button or something.

I have a feeling this will only create more complaining.
Nerd Rage makes me think of general geek rage towards anything, encompassing Ruined Forever, It's Popular, Now It Sucks, They Changed It, Now It Sucks, etc. I'm for either keeping the old name or something that actually describes the trope. This. A thousand times this.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Names aren't supposed to be laconics, but point taken. Downvoted Nerd Rage.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm not sure I like Fandom Berserk Button, because this is more like Fan Dumb Berserk Button, but it seems to be the best option remaining viable.
I don't think it's a good idea to add more fandom-bashing to the "trope" name. It's already a fandom bashing thing.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWell how about Fan Dumb Berserk Button as a name?
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.Misleading and very fand-bashy as well.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMisleading how?
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere. The "trope" is not Internet Backdraft. It's about mistakes about a work (such as misspelling Ganon as Gannon) causing a heated reaction.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBerserk Button implies Internet Backdraft, then?
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.Yes, in a way.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHow about "Raging Pedantry"? Or "Hated Mistakes"? "Shibboleth" is slightly off the mark because the word is used for a tribal marker (which outsiders are actually expected to get wrong).
A blog that gets updated on a geological timescale.Votebump, though given the ratios this is probably ready to call.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableVotebump, though I think this is done.
I should hope this is done after so much time. Hollering to call.
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable
Crown Description:
What should be done with the page Gannon Banned? Note that these are not all mutually exclusive. All winning actions that are compatible with the top winner can be done together.
Well, the worst thing that could happen at this point is for the thread to accomplish absolutely nothing. This will likely happen if there is no clear consensus for what to name the merged pages, so the most reasonable course of action is to upvote the one that is currently leading and downvote the rest.
