It's the product of a split of Logical Fallacies. It was done rather haphazardly from what I remember
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanNote that Screw the Rules, I Have a Nuke! claims to be more or less the same thing, except in trope format, and it's in the trope repair shop for underuse, lack of clarity, and very misleading name. One (partial) solution to both problems might be to move this to Useful Notes, and transplant the Nuke trope in its place.
(The other discussion is here.)
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Appeal to Force is the most basic logical fallicy, and should not be omitted from the list simply because somebody doesnt like the way it's formatted. If you're going to make a big list of logical fallicies, you have to include its simplest form.
That said, the whole thing is a series of Useful Notes pages. Move one, move them all.
EDIT: Ack, the formatting be awful alright. That closing paragraph should come before the list of examples.
Also realises that omitting the page from the list was never discussed.
(Bangs head.)

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...Bumping here. Do we move this to Useful Notes and plug Screw the Rules, I Have a Nuke! in?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanClocking.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThat's my vote.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. What about Might Makes Right?
Check out my fanfiction! If you're going to move Appeal to Force to Useful Notes, all of the other pages on Logical Fallacies should be moved there as well.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Aren't they already useful notes? Even if they haven't been properly namespaced yet?
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Agree that the Fallacies pages should be moved to useful notes.
Bumping this. Do we need a crowner for the Logical Fallacies namespacing here?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThese are tropes. Let's don't just have a page-move drill for its own sake. There is plenty to do.
At most they might need some text explaining how they are used in storytelling.

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittySo do we just need a rewrite? Unfortunately, I am not good at description rewrites.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBut we already have this separately as a trope. (See above.) Two different names for the same trope can't be a good thing.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Well, cut Screw the Rules, I Have a Nuke!!, then, if only because of the crappy title. I'd much rather the trope have a name that will be used than yet another useless snowclone.

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyNevermind.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOk, I think that we have already two tropes for the storytelling use of Appeal to Force (Screw the Rules, I Have a Nuke! for the character using it and Might Makes Right for the author), but since the former has only 70 wicks and a line of dialogue as a name, I propose to put the current trope Screw the Rules, I Have a Nuke! into the page Appeal to Force and ditch or redirect Screw the Rules, I Have a Nuke!.
eta: Because there is no point in disambiguating.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMakes sense.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyLooks like a good idea to me.
Also, ugh, that formatting is so bad.

Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.Ok, do we make a crowner for this change?
Also, I've found an older thread that deals with some of the other pages on the index.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHaven't seen arguments against the change. May as well just proceed.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyI'll do it as soon as dinner is done, then.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAnd did the rename. I put the old def of Appeal to Force under Sandbox.Appeal To Force, by the way.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCool. Then I'll lock this.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - Fighteer
When I read this trope, I'm not sure if it's trying to be a normal trope, or a useful notes page. The formal also makes me go "Why did they do it like that?" Also, this article is almost 2 years old; lacking examples considering that?
