Wick Cleaning Projects thread

Actually, I've added a function to my script to do sorting. Yes, it considers "A", "The" and even tropes like 10-Minute Retirement, and can do pages with several folders (after some initial difficulties).

Character sheets don't always have folders, and even when they do, they usually have multiple characters listed in each folder. Got to admit that it sounds like a promising start, though, and I may well have pages to send your way. :)

The only renames that can be handled automatically are when the rename is not due to misuse (only 20% of renames or so qualify) and it's in an example list. I doubt an automated script can handle rewriting sentences to make sense with the new trope name.

These efforts are far more important than the namepspacing effort, and yet get a fraction of the volunteers. Sad.

I took out A Day at the Bizarro last week. Will try to knock out I See London today or tomorrow. :/

I've been chewing on What Do You Mean It's Not Awesome (Mundane Made Awesome) off and on for the past week or so, down to a bit over 1700 entries (from well over 2K). Doesn't seem to be a lot of action from others, but I'm not obsessing over the wick count either so I could just be missing it.

And, yeah, it's not really suited to script automation. About half or so (guesstimate) of what I've personally seen is misuse, and then there's the issue of ABC order for entries that are actually correct ("m" coming well before "w").

What Do You Mean, It's Not Awesome? is now below 1600.

I See London is at 55 now - will finish tomorrow unless someone wants to do so while I sleep.

I've been hacking away at The White Prince. Currently on 200 wicks.

It might be worth mentioning here that within the last month, I got rid of the last 700 wicks to Nakama. We can finally mark that migration as complete.

The White Prince is done. All that is left is a phantom wick on Base Breaker which is locked.

Now The White Prince is done for real. There are two wicks left, and both are archives.

Is it possible that ghost wicks in existing pages are caused by use of the moderator revert tool? It appears that the most recent edit on Base Breaker is a mod reversion, followed by a lock, and I think that if a moderator were to make a null edit on the page, it might clear up the ghost wick on White Prince.

Would one care to test my theory?

You'll need to go back over the Epic Song -> Epic Rocking wicks since almost none of the old examples for Epic Song are examples of Epic Rocking.

Different as Night and Day is now done. I have a headache.

Excellent. I'll close out the TRS thread for the ones that are done. DC, editing the page seems to have fixed it.

I started on Bottle Fairy last week but didn't get to work on it this week. Hope to knock off 100 or so wicks this weekend.

Quite a few counts went down between yesterday and today. Makes me feel much better about these actually going somewhere. ^_^ Thanks to all who helped, even if you only did a handful of wicks.

Drop What You Are Doing -> Dramatic Drop is now complete. Only a very few instances of actual misuse popped up, but I did move some Zero Context Examples to discussion pages.

Also, for What Do You Mean, It's Not Awesome?, the letters J and V are done.

Added Hot Chick with a Sword, as the thread about it has gone on forever.

Finally done with Hot Amazon. Thanks to whomever helped out with half of the last 150 wicks. 1200+ wicks. -_-
