Page Restoration Petitions

@1272: Very much this. The Sandbox page for Pages Cut Under The Policy Change still had some cut works on there from before the formation of 5P that were appealed and not reviewed yet. The page in question was cut by Panctice Squad Cutterback on the grounds that "we don't need a list for porn." It should be restored.

My plan was to go over the list and find something cut before the 5p that might be worth saving but seeing as the bloody list was cut...

Yes, the mouth opens huge one used by Garfield and Dagwood and Gluttony was also covered by the O Ring Orifice page and was very PG. It needs it's own trope.

It definitely needs a new name - that name is just gross.

Komodin: Are you sure this is the right time to call for re-reviews? As you might recall, there are a couple of early decisions which I'd request a review for (on grounds of additional evidence / misdirected focus), but I don't want it to get in the way of the other stuff that you have to deal with. Or were you talking about other pages caught in the pre-Five P wipe?

There's no list, but google cache still has a copy of the page saved, if someone cares to review it.

thats good to know and I don't see why it wouldn't come back from the sound of it it was a rouge cut.

Yes. I'm going to save a copy of the cache'd image to my hard drive now because it skipped 6 days in the last two days or so.

EDIT: That's a "Yes, this can probably be used to restore it" not a "We'll probably use this to restore it"

I saved a copy of the source of Pages Cut Under the Policy Change right before it was cut. If we get the okay to restore it, I can just copy-paste that in.

My apologies for not responding sooner, but since it seems progress has been made on the case of the "Naughty Tentacles" trope, which sir, based on evidence presented, I still believe would be worth keeping if this site is to keep it's intellectual integrity in documenting tropes, even if it only survives with a rename as well as been sanitized, stubbed, and locked.

Besides, given the overwhelming evidence that it could be saved and resorted given careful measure are taken and it's legitimacy as a trope can be and has been proven, I would, presuming I was in your position, have it restored given the overwhelming preponderance of the evidence.

Of course, you are one of the people who is in power, and while, no offense, your bias is obvious, and with respect, sir, I believe it to be dangerous to your objectivity in the capacity you have been given as part of the P5, and if the majority of the P5 and the site administrator override your efforts to ban a trope which we have proven has good grounds to be saved, I would be glad to see it.

Of course, if they align with your position regardless of the evidence, while I admit I would find that disappointing, I would accept that decision with grace, and regardless, I hold no grudge against you sir, regardless of any bias I perceive, and I will honor your wishes to leave the "Naughty Tentacles" topic a closed subject, since it seems it has been finally been given the reasoned pro and con consideration it is due.

And, before I close out this message, I'd just like to say I personally feel Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil and would approve of the immediate death of pedophiles and rapists IRL, so I do sympathize with your motives, but I believe the tropes related to these topics should be kept (in the name of the intellectual mission this site was based on to categorize tropes if nothing else) in some form, but I will accept the final decision of the moderators regardless.

In closing, I took a look at your troper page, and I'd just like to say regardless of our difference of opinion, I'm glad you're a member of my nation's military, and I thank you for your efforts in my country's service.

I don't really think it would be that much of a problem if we gave it the same treatment as Panty Shot — minus the image, of course.

We might need to put a note on the cutlist that says to not add stuff that should instead be flagged for P5 to decide the fate of.

I have a hard time believing anyone could ever be having such a difficult time finding porn that they need a page on this wiki to help them do it.

Anyway, back on topic, what's the verdict on O Ring Orifice? It can be used to describe any body part with an opening and it need not be pornographic in many contexts, and unlike "Naughty Tentacles" it doesn't even have any culture specific bigotry that can be applied to it's potential controversy (as an earlier posting by a troper pointed out, it's used quite often for the mouths of various characters in a non hentai comedic context in many Western, entirely work safe works, usually in eating or drinking scenes exaggerated for laughs), so it should go back up in some form IMO.

Didn't someone already YKTTW a new version of that one?
