Excuse Plot is a videogame trope, whereas this is written with films as an example. So I don't think the name should feature Excuse Plot.
Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered.Well do you have a better name?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. To be honest, I'm not so sure that a rename will help. The title isn't exactly unintuitive, it's pretty much sums up the trope perfectly, and any searchability issues that would have been caused by the spelling are nullified by the proper spelling redirect.
Nobody else self-thumps. Hm. Maybe I just speak (type?) before thinking often.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I agree with My Timing Is Off that this trope does not really need to be renamed. I am not sure that giving it another name is really going to encourage use since the current name seems relatively clear to me.
That being said, I think it is probably worthwhile figuring out what types of media are associated with this trope. The first sentence of its description suggests that this is a film trope, but the examples include video games and TV shows. Xtreme Sport Xcuse Plot is also also supposedly a subtrope of Excuse Plot, yet that trope only applies to board and video games.

"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dWith the odd spelling used here, I imagine that most tropers wouldn't remember how to link to it, and that most users wouldn't be able to find it in the first place. And it's a Snow Clone of an unrelated trope, to boot.
The point of trope names is that they let people find the trope. This name fails at that (as evidenced by its low wicks and inbounds).
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Alternate spellings are traditionally covered by redirects. Extreme Sport Excuse Plot points to the correct page.

Rhymes with "Protracted."Well in this case, using "clever" spelling seems to have hurt the clarity of the trope name, which is why the redirect is still a better name.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Yes, that's my point.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Of course. I was responding to the post 8, not post 7.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Seems like a rename would have little or no effect, with the possible exception of changing the "excuse plot" part, since that is actually supposed to mean "a plot that's a thinly-disguised excuse to include X-treme Sports"; not Excuse Plot, which is different than that. The presence or absence of Xtreme Kool Letterz seems obviated by redirects.

What would be the best way to fix the page?
25 wicks, and 3 inbounds.
Yeah, the name was dumb. The name is partly a snowclone of Xtreme Kool Letterz (I know, since I wrote up the trope), in spelling more than form, but it's clearly hurt the trope. Let's give it a better name, either swapping with the redirect, or something even better.
EDIT: Thread reason is a mistake. I hollered already to have it fixed.
