Support. The Wiki Word parser doesn't recognize hyphens as a valid character, so just like old ptitles they need to have a purely alphabetic redirect/name available.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I was approaching it from the standpoint of convenience and standardization: it's just seems easier to type VisualNovel/LimeIroRyukitanX rather than put on the curly braces and remember the hyphen goes between "Lime" and "iro". More generally, it seems useful to be able to go with camel case and not have to worry about capitalization or punctuation in work titles.
(I suspect there are more pressing issues.)
Wait, what? Why are you doing this? Just use curly brackets when there's a hyphen; it's really not that hard.
I thought that the Customise tool was only supposed to be used to add punctuation that couldn't be done any other way. Since the parsing system does recognise hyphens, they shouldn't be added by said tool.
Ukrainian Red CrossSpiderMan gives you Spider Man, for example.
Rhymes with "Protracted."I think the hyphenated ones can still be used as redirects - but I think, in general, the curly brackets should really only have to be used for single Wiki Words. As well as, I suppose, turning singular words into plurals.
Ptitlei6ienwb7r3mk (not linking for redundancy reasons) has been moved by me to Webcomic.Pokemon-X, as one example on how to do this. Webcomic.Pokemon X was created as a redirect to the latter.

I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Up until recently, I was doing the same thing - moving articles to the hyphened-title. I agree that it's not an urgent issue, but it's probably something that could be done at leisure. There are probably less hyphened-titles, than there are ptitles or work pages that need to be moved off the Main/ Namespace.
It's easy enough, when it something like Post-Grunge - but when it's a lengthier title (such as Lime-iro Ryukitan X) that has more than two words joined, it can get pretty complicated.

@Vampire: Nobody likes to link things by curly braces. For one, it makes TRS sampling more difficult.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I like curly brackets. In fact, I prefer them to Wiki Words.
If it bothers you that much, make a hyphen-free redirect, but there's no reason to use the title customiser when not necessary.
Ukrainian Red CrossI loathe curly brackets myself. It makes it harder to ctrl+f a title quickly.
Fight smart, not fair.^ This. When you're scanning article source by the dozen to analyze usage patterns for TRS, it's much faster when every article links to it in the same way (and 90+% of all links are of the Wiki Word variety, including piped links) because otherwise you have to keep toggling your search term between Wiki Word and Curly Brace format.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.+1 on the curly bracket thing for regular wiki words sucking when cleaning things up, like when I was moving Schlock Mercenary to the right namespace (to Webcomic, from Main). That was kind of an artifact of how I was doing it, though, so it's not a great example.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpNot too fond of curly brackets either. Apart from the issues mentioned above, you have to press Alt Gr+7 and Alt Gr+0, respectively, to get them on a Swedish keyboard (possibly other layouts as well), so for some of us they're annoying to type too.

Yeah the control-F issue is a big one. Some folks are putting in lots of hours fixing stuff on hundreds on pages. Having a single standard string to search for helps a lot.
Well, given that something like this has recently been brought up, I figure I'll bump this.
Currently, I'm working on efforts to replace hyphenated urls of the subpages for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
EDIT: And speaking of hyphens... any way we can get certain punctuation marks on certain namespaces work?

I now go by Graf von Tirol.Put it in the custom titler as "Westernanimation/HeManAndTheMastersOfTheUniverse" (all lowercase namespace) to get it to link properly.
Don't know if that trick works after it's been customised once, though.
Very useful.
I did this for Yu-Gi-Oh! and will go back for the wicks later this week. However with Tabletopgame.Yu Gi Oh, the custom title only displays in the title of the page itself, and not on any blue links. No one gave me a response in Ask The Tropers, so I assume it's a bug or you can't custom title more than once and it was custom-titled before.
One Piece blog Beyond the LampshadeYah, can't custom title twice, have to use the "screwed up custom titles to fix" thread so Eddie/mods can fix it. It's done that way so the mods don't get hit with a half dozen copies of the same request because it hasn't gone through yet.
Fight smart, not fair.I really think that the name of the article should be the actual name of the media, not whatever is more convenient for people to type. I'm very much against this.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Well, that lead to problems with the use of the ptitle override code. It's not so much that it's convenient, so much as you get into a specific habit of wikiwording a specific way, namely stripping out all the punctuation and using all caps, even if the title has lower case.
Fight smart, not fair. But if we do this, we have to use a workaround for camel cased namespaces, which is also changing the way people are used to wicking pages. Not to mention causes a lot of cleanup work where someone has to go through and check all the wicks for each media page that's a video game, western animation, tabletop game, etc to make sure that the namespace is capitalized properly so that the custom title will work.
All so some people who don't like curly brackets don't have to use them as often.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Must have changed that since I heard.
Fight smart, not fair.
We currently have Namespace Migration and Ptitle Migration going on, but we should probably also do a Hyphen Migration. It looks like, according to Camacan, it's better to just create articles on the plain CamelCase Wiki Word - and just let "Customize Title" take care of the hyphens.
I was confused about that, myself - but I think it would be less of a pain to link to articles without the hyphen.
