DEATH BATTLE

People talk about bias but Killer Instinct is the series to get heavily represented despite limited relevance. (I'm not talking about their wins, just the fact that they get picked for fights at all.) That said, I'm both ok with that and totally think Jago is a perfect opponent for Liu Kang.

When are we getting Banjo vs Gex is my question. I bet the creators have fond memories of 90's platformers that never got past the N64 era.

Master Chief is unfortunately pretty much the only character worth using from Halo. I guess there's the Arbiter and the Didact? Neither have even close to as much presence, and most other characters are just interchangeable Spartans.

Though I wouldn’t mind seeing Palmer & those other guys who went against Chief die horribly.

The only problem I have with Liu Kang vs Jago is that it might be a stomp in Liu Kang’s favor though I’m not that familiar with Killer Instinct.

Is there a franchise you guys would like to see in Death Battle that others seem to discourage for one reason or another? I really want Skullgirls and Under Night in Birth, myself...

A few. I mentioned that topic earlier, although I have so many favorite franchises I don't see getting a representative that I might end up throwing an entire list up and not name any of the same ones I said before. Although I know Dynasty Warriors makes both cuts.

There are some franchises, like Atelier, that I specifically don't want them to touch unless they rescind the need for gory deaths.

I definitely want them to cover a Fire Emblem character. Given Three Houses is out soon, it's a definite possibility that they have a showdown ready already.

Looking up Jago's feats, he'd certainly give Liu a run for his money, if not possibly beat him.

Rescind the need for gory deaths, huh? Well, on the one hand, there's Raven vs Twilight Sparkle and Weiss vs Mitsuru. On the other hand, there's Scrooge Mc Duck vs Shovel Knight and Ben 10 vs Green Lantern...

Well as much as I make fun of the franchise in the past I’d actually like to see Fate brought in here.

Characters with the highest chance of getting a spot are in order from most likely would be Artoria, Gilgamesh, Archer EMIYA, & Chu Chulain for they are among the most iconic of all Servants & ya know First Installment Wins due to them all originating from the 1st Fate product.

All of them sans Emiya are public domain characters. It's just that they tend to be the most famous interpretation of them in media.

Except maybe Saber, she is just girl King Arthur.

As long as Artoria doesn't fight Clare, I'm good. Although, if I had to pick a Fate rep, Mordred or Nero would likely be my top pick since both are best Sabers. But Artoria, Cu, Gilgamesh, Shirou, Rin, EMIYA, Kiritsugu, Mash, Iskander, Gilles, and Heracles would probably be the most likely picks - Maaaaybe Kojiro since Medea (or as I call her - Best Caster, fite me) is always pushed to the side nowadays. The hard part would be how they composite the series since each franchise seem to differ and come across as insanely inconsistent in terms of speed and power.

Inconsistencies are there because of summoners. Some summoners are shitty mages or outright muggles, so their servants are weaker. And some servants are so powerful, they have to hold back to not kill summoner, their source of mana and anchor in human reality.

If I'm not mistaken, in Extra series servants are backed up by virtual reality in which they reside, so they plow right through entire armies like it's nothing.

The same way we get back to DC, Marvel, Final Fantasy, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Dragon Ball, One Punch Man, etc. Some people are interested in Fate like anything else brought up in this thread. Okay no, fuck that. From time to time I come to complain about Doomguy vs. Master Chief.

I say no Fate.

The strength of every character is variable based on their base stats, how much power they are receiving from their master, how they were summoned, their class etc.

To say both of how many of them have undocumented feats (like how awesome Hercules’ Nine Lives is, but he’s always Berserker so we’ll never see it).

Or how much Rock–Paper–Scissors gameplay goes into it, where character A loses to practically everyone but character B, even though character B Is functionally invincible 99% of the time.

And then there are the Super complicated Magi Babble rules that get ignored anyway.

And Gacha trash

I personally still want band mascots. The perfect fight for this would be Eddie Vs The Guy. They might be the most suited characters for desth battle, since tgeir depictions only focus on the stuff thats useful for a Death Battle. You could probably knock out the research for both characters in an afternoon.

I've suggested the Warriors of Hope before, which thematically fits but I don't think they'd make for interesting opponents. None of the Warriors actually pilot their mechs (with the exception of Black Suspirian) and just control them remotely from ground level instead with no other direct forms of offense, in contrast to the KND not only piloting their vehicles and mechs but also having a variety of weapons for when they fight on ground level.

Maybe the sheer amount of Monokumas they control could Zerg Rush Sector V? But I honestly doubt even that'd work since they've been shown to have EMP-esque devices before.
