I think that the cropped version of the one on the page is the best of the bunch.
If cropping out the bare knees makes it less likely to call down the wrath of the Mrs Grundys of the world who happen across it, then let's do so. Otherwise we'll be having this discussion over and over and over again.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I have Small Reference Pools. Who's Mrs. Grundy?
"a personification of the tyranny of conventional propriety. ... a feared dispenser of disapproval." The Other Wiki: "Mrs Grundy"
"A tendency to be overly fearful of what the respectable might think is also referred to as grundyism." The Other Wiki: "Mrs Grundy"
"fictional English character who typifies the censorship enacted in everyday life by conventional opinion..." Encyclopedia Britannica: Mrs Grundy
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.So basically Moral Guardians?
I object because the guys aren't bishonen!
With that kind of name, they would have to be!
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. If they were bishonen, it wouldn't be bara. XD It implies Manly Gay (or Manly Bi) men.
Gil: Pretty much, only they're specifically Moral Guardians who work through concern over what "respectable people" would think.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Ahh, so it's Moral Guardians who makes virtues out of Unfortunate Implications.
Bishōnen is Boys' Love not this. The whole point that these guys are Manly Gay hairy, muscular, meat heads etc.
That and Seme/Uke dynamics, and Yaoi Fan Girl Demographics are the big differences in the trope.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!With all due respect, not having ass cheeks in the page pic is kind of important.
The tops of ass cheeks. Whatever. It still looked bad.

It wasn't asscheeks. It was knees.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.To the right of the guy's knee?◊ The proportions are off, though, so it's hard to tell whether it's gluteus or not.
I'm not all that concerns about ass cheeks. If they were there, they were gluteal Side Boob at best.
The art's dodgy, but the pic's good as is, for me.
I'm sorry, but my experience of once being Sink Hole'd to this page as an Incredibly Lame Pun from the completely nonsexual The Man Behind the Man page tells me that this is still NSFW. When asking yourself if something's NSFW, you shouldn't just consider "would this be appropriate, if you went to the page knowing full well what it meant". You should consider "would this be appropriate if someone were randomly linked to it in a context that does not state what the page is".
(And yes, I removed the link in question).
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...The crop is fine, I guess. And I did think the other one was a bit NSFW, but I never complained because I assumed most people in TV Tropes would be open minded enough not to care, and because it was cool.
I did cringe when I read this. Why is it "squicky"?

"You cannot judge a system if your judgement is determined by the system."I think it's fine now. It just looks like two shirtless dudes kissing.
Can we just lock this?
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!
It only matters for what people are comfortable having on their screens in public. Cropped shows the genre just fine but leaves people more comfortable with it.
