It has been a year since the final challenge took place.
It has been a year since the traitorous creature known as Omega was exiled to a place of void an nothingness. It has been a year since an unlikely group of beings fought their way free from the clutches of their captors, the enigmatic Nomads, who had forced them to take part in a bizarre series of competitions for their own amusement. And it seemed that, for a time, the Nomad's machinations had ended, and the people of the myriad realities were free to live their lives free of divine interference.
They were wrong.
Now, a year after the final Challenge, strange new forces are beginning to conspire. Old and new beings alike will find themselves caught up in a brand new quest for survival and freedom among unlikely backdrops, a quest that will bring them to the edge of... infinity.
Hello, and welcome to the signup thread for A Game Of Gods: Infinities. First of all, thanks for taking an interest in the thread, and I hope you'll sign up for this game. As the old Forum RP hands are familiar with, all the standard rules apply- autohitting, godmodding, ghosting, metagaming, etc. are unacceptable like in any other game.

Challenges
The basic premise of the game is quite similar to last season, with a group of heroes and/or villains taking on challenges, often pitting them against heroes or villains from another universe. To begin with, we will be working through a glut of challenges leftover from the previous round, but after that people will be able to suggest and implement their own challenges.
This season, Two challenges will usually run at once. A secondary challenge will takeplace alongside the primary challenge, giving new layers something to do or an alternative to the primary challenge. This may affect what happens to your character in the long run, so choose wisely!
If you have an idea for a challenge, feel free to consult any of the GMs: Stratofarious, Troydenite and Flanker66. Remember, if nothing else, please try to keep challenges brief and manageable! 2 weeks is the maximum time a challenge should take, and please be sure that you or someone else will be able to see it through to completion.

Its never really specified. But the guns themselves seem to have a relatively short range. I'm assuming it would be a pretty high caliber.
The transformations are special moves and don't seem to last long, like a few seconds, before going back to their original forms. Here's a video if that helps. The last one I'm not using because I don't know how it works.
I honestly don't care how you nerf them. I want to play Noel for her personality.
PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850Seems alright. Accepted, barring an objection from the other G Ms.
You can have her appear in the Common Room.
As for you, des, your character is accepted as backup.
I too have no objections; sorry for the long wait, I've just been swamped (this also goes for the Sifuri people if they're reading this).
Locking you up on radar since '09Well, I'll drop him in if/when RL won't be swamping me. Which might not happen at all in the next two years, but Iunno.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundThis is for some time in the distant future. If there's any time after ..... Sayaka kicks the bucket
- Name: Tomoe Mami
- Appearance:
- a normal girl◊ and..the senpai
- Universe: Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Different story timeline. A little while after meeting Kyouko and becoming her 'senpai'.
- Powers:
- Soul Gem: what she believes to be the badge that distinguishes a magical girl from other people. Actually it's more like a soul jar wherein the magical girl's soul is stored. Therefore it is theoretically possible for a magical girl to have her entire body destroyed and yet still be alive. Also a magical meter that gathers impurities every time magic is used- collecting too much impurities not only causes the girl's magic to run out but also plunge the girl into depression and...
- Magic: Mami has a ribbon on her collar that is 'alive'. Mami's magic is centered around the use of this ribbon. Her guns are constructs made out of ribbons. Her outfit is a construct made out of ribbons. The ribbon's use is hugely varied- from being used as chains to turning into trip wires.
- Mami's main fighting style however involves guns (gunkata?). She is able to summon a huge number of guns in a single go- these usually are muskets that have only one shot, however she can pull out cannons if she wants to and a huge pistol for her Trio Finale. All these guns only have one shot. Lately, she's been seen wielding pistols and even a sawn-off shotgun. She uses these guns primarily for shooting but she will use them as a bludgeon if it suits the situation. just a little taste of how she fights.
- Healing: Mami has limited healing powers, they are nowhere near as good as Sayaka's and only work for light wounds and scratches- deep wounds would take quite long and use quite a bit more magic as to be rather inefficient.
- Superhuman attributes: Like all other magical girls, Mami literally has a body running on magic. Therefore she is more durable than your ordinary person. She has greater agility, strength and speed a girl of her age would have.
- Personality: Mami likes to appear as a serious minded, cheerful senior to those around her. She's smart and certainly does a good job at playing this part. However deep down she is just a lonely person with zero social life- witch hunting takes up all her free time. She clings to her ideals stubbornly, believing that a magical girl can live an unselfish life. She is also rather emotionally weak but that is something she'll hide at all costs.
Lots of areas that need to be cleaned up. I may expand on the guns thing but...not today.

Also, you misspelt her family name.
Slience.

{sees when Mami comes from, then sees when Kyouko comes from} Ooooooooh... This is gonna be fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun...
Sorry Psyga, I will bust your bubble. By the time I get to play this Mami, season three of AGOG would probably have started if there even is a season three.
No no no, I need to finish with Sayaka first.
Is it still okay to add players at this point? I'd love to be involved...I've been itching to play this guy. I hope he isn't too low on the super weight scale...
Name: Rincewind (and the Luggage)
Appearance: Thin, with a red cloak and "wizzerd" hat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rincewind
Universe: The Discworld series. This takes place literally the day after the events of his adventures with Twoflower, as detailed in The Color of Magic and The Light Fantastic.
Powers: Rincewind is, at first glance, not a very powerful fellow. He has been described as a magical zero (decades before The Familiar of Zero did it), and for a very long time had only one spell to his name: a spell from the ancient Octavo, eldritch tome of magicks. Now, even that spell is gone, sealed within its pages safe from harm.
However, Rincewind has not survived his adventures for no reason at all-he is a very fast runner. Not to the level of the Flash or anything, but he has "the body of a long-distance sprinter", as the Other Wiki says. He can turn minor problems to swirling tsunamis of horror in the blink of an eye. And Lady Luck is on his side.
Rincewind can pick up any language incredibly quickly, is very streetwise due to all the misadventures he has been through, and has a very scientific mind-something the members of the Disc have mocked him for. He has extensive magical knowledge, despite not being able to do any sort of magic whatsoever.
The best thing Rincewind has going for him is the Luggage, a travelling companion made of magical wood. The Luggage is a suitcase-chest thingy that's bigger on the inside, keeps his belongings safe, is capable of moving (and biting), and will doggedly follow its master wherever...even to the domain of Death itself.
Personality: Rincewind is a coward, first and foremost. He prefers not to be in danger whenever possible. Unfortunately, danger prefers to be in him. There is never a dull moment when Rincewind is around, unless of course you think that falling off the edge of the world and/or being consumed by a Lovecraftian monstrosity is boring.
Rincewind occasionally is predisposed to mock whatever absurd event comes his way, but mostly out of resignation because he knows he'll get involved in it somehow. Things love to chase him, from Bel-Shomorath (a horrible thing with too many tentacles) and Death himself.
The Luggage is kind of hot-headed. It does not hesitate to bite or even eat anybody that threatens it. Those eaten do not return. It is despite this incredibly loyal, and will follow its master no matter what, always catching up eventually...even if the Luggage is, say, miles and miles away at the bottom of an ocean, or say, falling off the edge of the world.
What do you think? Rincewind was in the very first Massive Multifandom RPG, but I'm not going to mention that because it's inaccessible and so I can't bone up on it.

"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."You will be glad to know that we have a depressed guy with a guitar in this RP, and that we therefore have no such thing as too weaksauce.
Also, we are accepting new players, and we are not associated with the MMF in any way, save sharing a few players here and there. Seems fine, welcome in. Hop on over to the Discussion Thread and introduce yourself.
EDIT: I see that you have signed up to the MMF as well. If playing the same character in two RPs disrupts your plans in any way, do not feel obligated at all. Just drop this one.

You are a champ and have earned major respect from me.
Welp, here goes. If I need to tone Brosuke down a little bit, I will do so. Tried to add some drawbacks to using Jiraiya, seeing as he's not in the Midnight Channel right now.
- Name: Yosuke Hanamura
- Appearance: "Let's go, Partner!"◊
- Universe: Shin Megami Tensei's Persona series. Specifically, Persona 4. As for the time frame... Basically, the day after the events of Persona 4: Arena, in the situation where his story mode is canon.
- Personality: Yosuke is a very clumsy, somewhat-irritable and slightly neurotic guy. He has a habit of not thinking before he speaks and as a result ends up in a lot of foot-in-mouth situations where he's unintentionally insulted someone. He often comes off as very happy-go-lucky, idiotic and outgoing in demeanor, and is a bit of a wannabe-ladies' man (with predictably disastrous results); but beneath that he can actually be quite insightful with good deductive reasoning skills, and can be a very focused and serious individual when he needs to be. He has a tendency to try to keep the people around him in high spirits, and despite the offensiveness is a kind person with a strong sense of justice. His biggest insecurities are his propensity towards boredom, loneliness, his burning carwreck of a love life, and feeling overshadowed by others. But overall, he's a generally good person that tries hard and fails a lot.
- Abilities/Powers: Yosuke has several skills at his disposal:
- While not particularly physically strong or durable, he's very quick and agile, meaning he's a fast hitter with stunning evasiveness. His combat style is rather pragmatic as a result, utilizing a lot of tricks, feints, acrobatics, and striking opponents while they're down. Unless the handicap of being Yosuke kicks in, and he ends up tripping over himself or something.
- Wields dual knives or kunai as his primary weapons.
- His Persona,
Disco Ninja FrogJiraiya* allows him to use various support and wind-based offensive spells. However, due to not being in the Midnight Channel or any other sort of Persona/Shadow-dominant world, it's incredibly exhausting both mentally and physically for him to draw Jiraiya out. Certain abilities may exhaust him more than others.- Brave Blade: High-damaging slash attack combining his and Jiraiya's power.
- Garudyne: Strong single-target wind-based magic attack.
- Magarudyne: Same as above, but hits multiple targets. Much more exhausting, however.
- Tentarafoo: 25% chance of inflicting a magic-induced confused or disoriented state. All foes.
- Sukukaja: Support spell that increases allies' agility.
- Youthful Wind: Wind-based support magic; moderately heals himself and allies in addition to an agility boost for them.
- Wind Amp: Passive ability that increases the effectiveness of his wind-based magic.
- Auto-Sukukaja: Passive ability that increases his agility and speed.

“DAMMIT WHEN I HEAR 'SPACE CQC' ALL I CAN THINK OF IS BIG BOSS WITH A FISHBOWL ON HIS HEAD, STRANGLING AN ASTRONAUT OUTSIDE THE ISS."Aaaaaaaaaaand now I'm considering coming back with Yukiko, but I've been sitting on that idea for months, and I don't think it's gonna get anywhere anytime soon.
Seems fine to me. Accepted, barring objections from my fellow GMs. Welcome to the game.
Name: Hank J. Wimbleton
Appearance: Hmm... Will a link to the Madness Combat page do? (If it isn't I'll add an actual pic. Web won't let me directly add a pic right now for some reason.)
Universe: Above. He's the main character, but not from current update. This is Hank from Episode 2. He's not nearly at his full strength, but he does have one particular power already... (Note: personality and Abilities are actually speculation on my part, not strictly canon)
Personality: Very decisive, and willing to get his hands dirty. He's also very violent, and kills things randomly if he gets annoyed. Anyone that befriends him will have one heck of an ally though, he won't betray his friends.
Abilities: He's mostly just good at fighting. However, he has one very useful thing. He had a special improbability drive blood boost that (although he doesn't know that it did something) has given him a ressurection complex. Every time he dies, he comes back to life, a little stronger too. How strong? The act of ressurection duplicates a small portion of the power of whatever killed him and then adds it to his strength. It doesn't weaken what killed Hank though, just brings him back to life and makes him a little stronger than he was before. (It isn't noticeable at first, but after numerous revives, he eventually starts becoming noticable stronger. If revived by something else, he gets a much larger portion of the power that killed him, to the point that it is very noticable how much he got stronger. Only if the ressurection was fully done by something else though)
If you have any thoughts on this, please tell me. Also, I don't have enough time to go through the entire history of the RP, could I have just a quick idea of what I need to know just for spawn? I'll be able to figure out everything else, but I figure that after a few hundred pages things might have changed dramatically.

DTG Co Labs I can haz youtubes?-Not a GM-
Despite that, would it be possible to format your post a little? Like using
- These
- Or these.
And resurrection as a power? Isn't that a bit hacks? like the guy from Superman(I can't remember his name for the life of me).
Oh, for linking appearances..[[URL]] would do won't it? And you can Bold your texts too. Mark up help solves everything. As for the Recap: Most of us are currently in the world of Dn D trying to save the world in three days. Meanwhile the Masked Ninja, Duskinoir and someone else along with Yee the Celestial are in a 'common room' doing absolutely nothing. They are also in a separate universe where you will 'spawn' if you get accepted.
Double space your paragraphs, man.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!Me?
Oh yeah, what he said
Hmm, so...this guy◊ but usually presented as this◊. Trying to find a good picture for this guy.◊

Sorry, used to other forums. Keep having trouble with that.
It isn't auto-resurrection. Unlike in the videos, he can't actually revive unless he's in a safe area (aka. where he'll be able to get up without someone trying to kill him) and the amount of damage he can take before the revive is useless depends on his current strength. Blood loss is easy for him to get over, but if he gets his head bashed in any time before being... well, short of some serious leveling outside of the resurrection boost, he won't ever be able to do that. Mostly what resurrecting gives him is more skill, but still in small amounts. It also leaves him disoriented for a few hours. Mostly I chose him because I like being able to use the same character but get different stats every time, and be able to stay in character and still be able to avoid what killed me last time.
Would it make it less unusable if when he revives he goes back to the spawn point and loses all his gear and weapons?

DTG Co Labs I can haz youtubes? Not a GM, but usually resurrection as a power is a no-go as it is considered OP.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundSorry, but no. Resurrection is already a no, and the coming back stronger makes it a no-no.
Edited Yosuke's profile a bit; Gave him a few more abilities and got more specific about the timeframe he's from
“DAMMIT WHEN I HEAR 'SPACE CQC' ALL I CAN THINK OF IS BIG BOSS WITH A FISHBOWL ON HIS HEAD, STRANGLING AN ASTRONAUT OUTSIDE THE ISS."Besides, you do kinda come back by default if you die.
I always though that if someone died in a challenge, got brought back in the Common Room, and then resurrected in-challenge, they would be cloned.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!
Can you specify what each of the transformations do? I mean, just saying "minigun" is a bit too broad. What kind of ammo it has, does it have any limitations (by the way, this extends to the weapon itself), yada yada yada.
