First thing's first: KEEP. THIS. SHIT. CIVIL. If you can't talk about race without resorting to childish insults and rude generalizations or getting angry at people who don't see it your way, leave the thread.
With that said, I bring you to what can hopefully be the general thread about race.
First, a few starter questions.
- How, if at all, do you feel your race affects your everyday life?
- Do you believe that white people (or whatever the majority race in your area is) receive privileges simply because of the color of their skin. How much?
- Do you believe minorities are discriminated against for the same reason? How much?
- Do you believe that assimilation of cultures is better than people trying to keep their own?
- Affirmative Action. Yea, Nay? Why or why not?
Also, a personal question from me.
- Why (in my experience, not trying to generalize) do white people often try to insist that they aren't white? I can't count the number of times I've heard "I'm not white, I'm 1/4th English, 1/4th German, 1/4th Scandinavian 1/8th Cherokee, and 1/8th Russian," as though 4 of 5 of those things aren't considered "white" by the masses. Is it because you have pride for your ancestry, or an attempt to try and differentiate yourself from all those "other" white people? Or something else altogether?

That just comes across as some alt-right person trying to save their own ass.
I have seen an disturbing amount of people on the alt-right that pretty much are flatout nazis and are in some cases proud of it. They'll call you the nazi though for calling them out on their ignorant, dangerous, and bigoted views.
Projection is a hell of a drug in the alt-right.
Yeah, I don't see anything satirical about this. I mean who or what is that guy even trying to expose or criticize in the first place there? Satire can be absurd, but it is never stupid.

Well, stupid satire just don't work. It's like calling an unfunny story as a comedy. Maybe I should called it successful or functional satire next time.
The problem with satire is that satire is only satire if it works. If it doesn't, if it's perceived as being what it's satirizing, it's failed to a degree that it contributes to the problem it's trying to address.

But they are comedy who are unfunny for some reason or another, sometimes you try to do a satire and it fails in the same way a comedy can fail and not be funny, it dosent stop being what it is.

It wasn't satire though, satire specifically refers to mocking something to make a point. They did not make any kind of point and thus their 'satire' was nothing but a pathetic excuse used to cowardly avoid responsibility.

Techinicly he did mock something in order to make a point(o so he claims anyway, Im not dying in this hill for him), my point is that you can make a satire and fail but that dosent stop him for be satire.

The FBI now classifies the far-right organization known as the Proud Boys as an extremist group. The group has be designated as an "extremist group with ties to white nationalism," according to documents produced by Washington state law enforcement. The document also warns that the Proud Boys are "actively recruiting in the Pacific north-west" and that they have "contributed to the recent escalation of violence at political rallies held on college campuses, and in cities like Charlottesville, Virginia, Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington."
Another post I saw claimed that the guy was attempting to draw parallels to a scene in the play where a wedding is interrupted by czarist goons, and to me that sounds plausible. It's still stupid as hell, especially because any satire that requires you to shout 'Heil Hitler' in a crowded theater still involves you shouting 'Heil Hitler' in a crowded theater, but I can see what he was going for. It was just a really dumb idea.
It's been fun.
They should be classified as a terrorist group as that pretty much is what they are.
That is pretty much a thing at this point and the equivalent of someone claiming that the story or fanfic they wrote is a comedy or parody if it sucks.
Or at least a run of the mill criminal organization. Seriously, some chapters do the whole Gang Initiation Fight thing.
