King Of Fighters general

Clone Zero had the disinction of being one of the most badass bosses in the series. These are for two reasons:

1. His fucking mustache. 'Nuff said.

2. He can fart and blow you away. Crazy awesome indeed.

Those are the two reasons that no one can take Commander Pringles seriously.

A Spiritual Successor to Homo Genius is Super Queering Aids Turbo II. From what I've seen, it has some great highlights (and people in the comments tend to reference David Sirlin more than they do Justin Long or Daigo.)

Ok, to re-rail the topic a bit (just a little), what do you guys think the plot should be for the next canonical game (XIV—if it ever is made—will most likely be a Dream Match Game)?

Ash and Saiki are gone for good and the seal on Orochi was reverted back to how it was before 2003. Iori and Chizuru have their powers again.

I say we make Duo Lon and Kensou Ascended Extras. Bring the Hizoku back into focus. Make Ron the Big Bad. Finally explain the importance of the Dragon Spirit inside of Kensou. Make Xiao Lon from Maximum Impact: Regulation A a Canon Immigrant and have her team up with her half-brother against Ron.

The stuff in your last paragraph's good. But all and all I'd like a plot with a story mode like Blaz Blue, Guilty Gear XX's and (maybe) the newest Mortal Kombat's: let the player pick their favorite canon team and see an expansive story relevant to them.

i.e: King and Ryo and Robert and Yuri have half baked romance subplots that pop up every so often. Their Will They or Won't They? shenanigans with themselves and their friends could fill an hour or two of gameplay pretty easy.

I would like either for them to Bring Rugal back for a saga, because you know as well as I do that he ain't dead. Or just use some villians from other franchises like King Leo/Jyazu. That would keeps things intresting.

D'oh! O keep getting Kensou and Shingo mixed up. Which is pretty sad, given the difference is one of them is one of my favorite characters to play and the other one I intensely dislike.

I like them both. Kensou looked so 90s pre-KOF 12.

You know, I didn't like Lucky all that much and hated Brian Battler but Heavy D was pretty boss. I want to see a boxer team of him, Rick Strowd, and Vanessa. Or better yet be able to make it.

Actually, they should make a Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 team consisting of Alfred, Rick, and Xiangfei, much like they did with the Mark of the Wolves team in XI.

I also think they should ressurect Rugal.

Assorted fighting and occasionally other competitive gaming lulz. A lot of them aren't that funny unless you really know the games inside out, but around half are good for a laugh regardless.

What's my best option for getting the earlier KOF games (94-2003)? KOF 99 is available on the Playstation Store (when it eventually comes back up), and I had KOF Neowave, but sold it.

KOF XI and XIII look interesting, but I doubt I'll be able to beat the bosses. Hell, I cant beat Shao Kahn in MK Trilogy, so there is no way I'm fighting Magaki. Not unless easy mode is actually easy.

2k2 Unlimited Match and '98 Ultimate Match are both on Xbox Live, or available on PS 2 if you don't have a 360. '98's remake is worth the 20 dollar pricetag if you're into fluff like 3D backgrounds, an arranged soundtrack, and win quotes in English (the 360 version leaves them all untranslated for some reason.) Otherwise, I'd just get the DLC version if you can.

2k2's remake is a little less so. The DLC version has everything but the 3D backgrounds, the arcade soundtrack, and the oldschool 2k2 mode (not that you really need it beyond seeing what it was like).

Between those two they've got every character in the series from '94 up to 2001. Except K9999, who they hated enough to replace with a guy called Nameless.

edit: 2k2's a bust for non-Xbox 360 owners outside Japan. I'd just get the 2000-2001 package for the PS 2 for the NESTS saga games. You're only missing out on Krizalid, Kyo-1 and Kyo-2 that way. '98 Ultimate match got an international release, though, so you're good for that one.

The untranslated quotes really really bug me, otherwise really cool games. I'm gonna get 2002UM eventually.
