I agree that Suicide Squad was likely still a mess from day 1.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I at least liked the look and feel of the very first trailer they released. In a perfect world they'd just release the original cut for the sake of study/comparison.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Yeah, I will said suicide squad have some issues, one is the lack of evilness from the squad itself, maybe it feel like decaff Guardians and the other is the villian, they need something chagelling but NO to much, enchantress was way out of their league.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I can answer that: no.

There is no Snyder cut. It's completely unfinished.
I swear to god, this whole cult built around the Snyder cut is just sad.
Every single tweet, like, and insider with vague exclusive info has caused a media freak out.
Just to quantify my earlier "no," since I don't want it to seem like I'm just making fun of Snyder's fans or being a jerk: Snyder seems to no longer have a working relationship with WB.* His next project, Army of the Dead, is actually going to be a Netflix exclusive despite him having had a first look deal with WB in the past and actually developing the project for them in the first place. And he's not slated to direct any projects for WB period right now, much less in the DCEU (he was supposed to direct Justice League 2, but for obvious reasons, nothing's been heard about that since the last one flopped at the box office, and I think we can safely assume it's no longer happening).
That, coupled with the fact that he actually got in a sly shot at WB while promoting his Netflix film (he made a jab about this new project having "no handcuffs") as well as the company having spent the last two years trying to veer away from his original plan for the DCEU, makes it REALLY unlikely to me that they'd have any interest in spending money to release the Snyder Cut. They don't seem interested in dredging up the past and calling more attention to how much of a train wreck the DCEU's "Phase 1" was. They've moved on and are focused on what's in front of them.
* He still receives producers' credit for films based on characters he had a hand in conceiving, like Wonder Woman and Aquaman, but that seems to be mostly ceremonial.

Looks like Will Smith might not be coming back for Suicide Squad 2[1]
Bummer. He and Margot Robbie were the two members of the Squad I actually had any investment in.
Shame. Him, her, Diablo (who is now dead) and oddly Captain Boomerang of all people.
Good golly, I am super excited for Shazam!.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I'm depressed about Suicide Squad 2...
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I'm not. I figure James Gunn would want a clean slate anyway.
Idris Elba in talks to replace Will Smith in Suicide Squad sequel.

From the god who sees everything to the assassin who never misses.
Ooh, if he isn't playing Deadshot, he should totally play Bronze Tiger.
Also it's saying Joel whatshisname will not be back as Rick Flag.

It's okay, they can just replace him with Sam whatshisface.
Aww, but I liked Bob Whosethat.
Just have him played by Jai Whateverhisface, even if he’s got something else. Nobody will notice.
Hey, Boomerang is literally the first time I've ever liked Jai Courtney in a role. Give credit where it's due.
Unsure of Idris Elba as Deadshot, but absolutely sure of Idris Elba. Smith was the best part of Suicide Squad, but Elba was the best part of the first two Thor movies. And since Elba's gone from the MCU, I'm happy to see him get slotted into the DCU.
I still want to see Jeffrey Combs as The Question. He's older, but A: The Question doesn't have to be the most physically demanding role and he's got a fully obscured face in costume, B: Justice League Unlimited and he's an on-screen actor, C: With an older Batman with allusions to years and years of crime fighting experience, other older heroes would be good world-building.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Reports are brewing over who James Gunn is wanting to bring into The Suicide Squad.
- Ratcatcher (gender-flipped)
- Polka-Dot Man
- King Shark
- Peacemaker
Funnily enough, Gunn's allegedly pining to have Drax the Destroyer himself Dave Bautista as Peacemaker. Probably as thanks for defending Gunn during the you-know-what, maybe?
Another interesting bit of trivia, Peacemaker was apparently the basis for The Comedian from Watchmen.

...You know, that might actually be interesting to watch. They could release it as, like, a four episode mini-series.
I mean, they won't, but they could.
