-Ian looks on in a strange combination of horror and amusement-

Me: -breaks down laughing- Hahahahaha... Holy Mother of Arceus... What IS that thing?!

Macraulloween Party, Confrontation with the Strange Visitor

-Ian hears what Gaspard called the strange-looking Pokémon-

Me: -thinks to self- Hmm... So that thing is called "Morpeko"... "Morpeko", coming from "pekopeko", a [Japanese] word meaning "hungry"... A new Pokémon, maybe? It is highly likely... I mean, this is the first I've ever seen of it... Now... as for its typing... Morpeko does bear a strong resemblance to Pikachu, so it could be an Electric type... but look at its other half! It looks almost malicious, as if it hadn't had anything to eat in a while... In that case, it might also be either a Ghost type or a Dark type... If the latter is true, then certain magics won't have any effect on it... but, now that I know what it is and its potential typing, all I want to know now is where it came from... and what it wants... but judging from the way it crashed the Macrauls' Halloween Party, what it wants... isn't food...

-It is about that time the Mean Bean Machine starts shooting lasers and missiles and such, particularly at the people who mocked it-

-In addition, all attacks aimed at it do nothing and cause Pokebeans to start filling up the gatchapon part, which was previously empty. A counter starts going down.-

Dr. Multiman: You laugh, but this Mean Bean Machine has more tricks up its sleeve than you think!

-Around then, suddenly, Flying Guardians and Moblins, Bokoblins and Lizalfos attached to Octorok balloons emerge and start attacking both trainer and mon on both sides. In addition they attack the Mean Bean Machine, causing its counter to go down further and for it to fill up with more Pokebeans-

-Shadow Mer fires a Psyshock-

-The Togekiss is not phased by Oberon and fires an Air Slash-

-The Vaporeon sends out a Hydro Pump-

-The Charizard breathes a Flamethrower-

A sudden barrage of lasers and missiles forces Halis to suddenly start running around in a panic to try and avoid it all.

Deku!Halis: "Woah, woah, ok, jeez, I get it, you're angry!"

Asterios Horn Attacks one of the oncoming missiles, knocking it away and back at the Mean Bean Machine.

Asterios: <Can you... fight?>

Deku!Halis: "Uhh... maybe? I have had a bit of a weird feeling ever since I got into this form."

They try to concentrate a bit before instinctively spitting a Deku Nut at one of the oncoming Octorok balloons.

Deku!Halis: "...Was that a seed I just shot? Since when did I learn Bullet Seed?"

Asterios: <Mmm... keep shooting?>

Deku!Halis: "Alright, but... I think I can only do this so fast."

They fire off another one, and Asterios tries to make sure none of the return fire hits Halis, even outright bodyblocking if need be.

-Rakash picks up a can of spraypaint and smiles-

Alright, I guess we're gonna graffiti to victory.

-A clash; blade against blade, creature against creature, framed against the volcanic landscape below-

Monopeko: As much as it'd be super fun doing the good old game with these added superpowers, my master thinks you're all too goody-two-shoes to just casually murder each other so it'd be no fun.

-Monopeko sighs and looks around-

Monopeko: Nah I'm here to let you know a couple of things. Firstly you might not wanna head out the front door without being ready for a fight and also as a kinda incentive to go out and get in that fight, you probably wanna know a friend of yours is a little... Imperiled?

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

Des took a few steps back as he saw Mer's transformation.

"Sorry but we need this Flamel guy. For reasons! Very, uh, good reasons!"

She shifts a little.

Des felt powerful. Something deep within wanted to get out.

Halis seems to stop thinking for a moment as soon as they hear someone's in danger, suddenly dashing over to said door, slashing it twice with their now-very-much-real laser sword and kicking it apart, fully intent on stopping whatever this plan is.

Halis: "Follow me. We don't have time to waste."

Best Berry HQ, Past

Henry is in the office, talking to a foreman on the other line.

Henry: What do you mean the shipment never arrived? We were expecting it hours ago.

Best Berry Employee, on the other line: Sir, you might want to check the primetime news.

Henry: Fine. Huxwell.

A Rotom-Z manifests.

Henry: Turn on the TV.

Huxwell: Yes sir.

The primetime news was all about a recent attack by a mysterious villain that the media have dubbed "Delta" and a renegade unidentified scientist with tentacles who appeared to be a knockoff of Doctor Octillery from the Spider-Man franchise.

Henry: Sonofabitch. Laughlin is going to kill us.

Walter: Yeah, for all we know you could turn into Tintin, Maxwell Smart, John Constantine, Castiel, Rorscharch, Inspector Gadget...

-Ian "hyah"'s in sudden trepidation as the lasers and missiles are fired at him by the Mean Bean Machine and he jumps out of the way-

Me: -thinks to self- That was a little too close...Another moment and I'd be a fried Hylian... and that would not taste good...

-just then, Ian's stomach growls-

Now's not the time to be talking about food! Now's the time to find a way to defeat that thing, and... wait...

-Just then, Ian gets an idea-

-Upon getting the idea, Ian snaps his fingers-

Me: So da!^Translation That's it! Piku-chan! Use your Iron Tail on the Poké Bean container! Maybe if those Poké Beans can be eaten, the Mean Bean Machine will lose power!

Piku-chan: <You got it!>

-Piku-chan jumps up, his tail shining with a metallic glow, and brings down an Iron Tail on the Poké Bean container-

Me: That's good. -Ian looks back at Monopeko-

Gaspard overhears Isbrand's statement.

Gaspard: It's not "ugly," it's Art Nouveau.

Lamarck: Which isn't as good looking as Baroque, if you think about it.

Gaspard: I mean, nothing overtakes Baroque in lavish detail, but spare a thought for Art Noveau. It's underrated, bold, and fresh.

Lamarck: In 1910, maybe.

-Ian summons a wand from out of nowhere and prepares to use his magic-

Me: Pirika Pirilala Popolina Peperuto! Let's open some windows!

-Ian casts a spell that opens a window, and Ian flies out of it to get a better vantage point of the J-Team's current situation-

Halis coughs a bit.

Deku!Halis: "This is not easy... Kinda wish I had some other way of attacking but I guess I gave that up once I chose to go back to human form. Well, I say 'human', but I got 'this' instead. Asterios, if you wanna go fight, you can, I'll be fine."

Asterios: <...Alright.>

He charges back into the fray, starting to build up a Rage. Halis continues to provide long-distance support by spitting a Deku Nut at any nearby enemies, though given that they're relatively weak, it's mostly to distract them and open them up for Asterios or someone else to attack.

An opportunity to stretch these wings, Colton observed. How exciting, he mused before pulling himself out of the thought process.

A [Gleaming Quill] was held in Roy's fingers, understanding of his abilities behind his eyes as he looked at his beau.

Sylveon, Ammy and Helmsman seemed to possess similar understandings of their abilities, as Sylveon and Ammy looked at the black-and-yellow rat while Helmsman rushed to try to break down the door.

[Insert Unoriginal Stinger Here]

-Mezzo sighs at Monopeko's statement-

Mezzo: All right, who's in trouble and who do I have to murder to fix it?

Pianis: Piano, maybe we shouldn't jump right to conclusions.

Mezzo: Shut up.

Mezzo: Oh, while I'm thinking of it, check your pockets. I want to see something.

Pianis: Huh?

-he searches through his pockets with his non-crystallized hand-

Pianis: I don't feel anything.

Mezzo: Aww, I guess you don't have the Shiva eidolith then.

Mezzo: It's his summon, he calls these two ice goddesses and they can transform into a motorcycle.

Pianis: Last Legend is weird.

Noelle: I don't know, it just appeared in my hands for some reason. I think I can use it to banish darkness?

Fortis: Oh my gosh! Maybe we can use it to solve the mystery!

Monopeko: Hah, maybe she was wrong and some of you do have what it takes to be killers!

-He laughs and hops off the podium-

Monopeko: Now if you'll excuse me, I'm seeing some chips on that buffet I wanna grab real quick.

-The door breaks down and the world beyond is... Not Lumiose, not Correctly Lumiose. Lumiose is kind of an old city but these streets feel older, cobbled streets and wood buildings with coppered roofs lit by iron streetlamps that cast a stark and cold off-white light that cast every shadow in stark black. And as implied, there were monsters; It would be incorrect to call them zombies, for while these things were shambling humanoids they were also likely made purely of dark energy with only a few pinpricks of light to suggest eyes. The monsters were starting to approach-

-And there in the distance, a blazing beacon of the same cold light shooting up into the starless sky. The halftone hamster glances up from stuffing his face-

Monopeko: Yaknow, would of been easier to defend the party from those things if the door was intact.

-The Macrauls still on stage watched bewildered, though the smallest of them seemed unsurprised-
