Mamma Mia excepted.
I kid. Seeing a stage production was loads of fun. But the movie was very dull... not sure why.

Really? I imagine a stage production would be better, but I quite liked the movie to begin with. It was a lot of fun, and you gotta love Meryl Streep. And Amanda Seyfried didn't really blow me away, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Do wonder why they felt the need to put Pierce Brosnan as Sam, though. I don't like when people go all "OMG STOP SINGING SO PAINFUL" about him, because I would rank his singing as doesn't-belong-in-a-musical-by-any-means-but-if-he-was-just-singing-for-fun-I-wouldn't-stop-him-or-anything and it's kind of endearing how hard he tries, but come on. Why?
I dunno. My mom and sister were going to see it, and I decided "Eh. I've got nothing better to do" and I tagged along.
I just felt very bored. I found myself thinking that I would have actually enjoyed the film more if there were no songs and it just focused on the plot.
I saw the stage version in Hollywood a while later with my high school choir, and I really enjoyed it.
Also, I'm annoyed that Youtube doesn't have a video of Mandy Patinkin singing "Finishing the Hat."

It is kind of slow at parts, I guess.
I saw it on Broadway. It's OK considering how obviously contrived it is, but Chess and Kristina are much more epic musicals by Björn and Benny.
It Just Bugs MeDoes this count as a musical? Because it's awesome.
I just saw the awesomeness that is Once More With Feeling. Best Musical Episode ever!
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile. For some reason someone put an extensive hateful rant about it on the quotes page for "Fanboy". I don't know why. I'm often called a fanboy, but I wouldn't want to be associated with that sort of meanness.

I'm feeling strangely happy now, contented and serene. Oh don't you see, finally I'll be, somewhere that's green...On what, exactly? OMWF?
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.Yes, though more broadly it attacked Whedon in general.
I'm feeling strangely happy now, contented and serene. Oh don't you see, finally I'll be, somewhere that's green...I just read it. It's from an article on how Whedon does certain things that are impossible to defend.
The thing is, that the article was good. But I hated that rant part. Because I don't like generalizations. Not to say he wasn't right about the Hardcore Whedonite.
But as a Whedon fan, I've dealt with the kind of bastard who would diss every single sci-fi other show created just because it doesn't have the same style of Firefly. Liking things is A-Ok in my book. Dissing other people's talent? You deserve to be raped by a hundred wolfes while Julie Andrews sings Supercalifragilist...W/e.
Also, I've actually talked with Slim Roberts once (He wrote the article in question) And he did nothing more than gush about Whedon. But he didn't do the shitty kind where you notice he doesn't believe in it, but the kind where you notice his passion.

Every single note that comes from Tony Head's mouth is beautiful
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.A friend keeps recommending Repo to me...
We have so many musical fans, why is the Live Performance section always dead?
Everything happens for a reason. The reason is a chaotic intersection of chance and the laws of physics.I sadly haven't seen a good musical performed in theater. But it's because of the language barrier.
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile. This one is almost never performed, which is unfortunate.
The musicals on Phineas And Ferb. Mock me if you will, but I love them. Alternately, some musical TGWTG reviews. (Wow, my first post in It Just Awes Me!)
And also, a certain movie about colorful people magicing some more colorful people out of a job.
What happened? Why am I not allowed to post anymore!?I've recently discovered Hamilton, and oh my goodness.
