YMMV / The Jackson 5ive

  • Fridge Brilliance: It might be confusing to some as to why Diana Ross makes an appearance in the cartoon's debut, being the catalyst to the brothers' success. But think about it ... the cartoon was probably alluding to the title of their debut album, which was called (Diana Ross Presents) The Jackson Five), which is also where a couple of the musical numbers came from.
  • Genius Bonus:
    • The final episode of the first season is called "A Rare Pearl". You could only guess what one of the musical numbers was going to be.
    • The first episode of the final season is about Michael saving a bird's home. What song did Michael Jackson sing about birds?
      • It's gotta be Petals this time!
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Season 1 had an episode called "The Wizard of Soul" which was an Affectionate Parody to The Wizard of Oz, and then a few years later, a movie called The Wiz was released that featured Michael Jackson and Diana Ross as the scarecrow and Dorothy, respectively.
    • The episode about Michael Jackson becoming a trendsetter and a fashion icon.
    • The episode of the Jackson 5 getting a street in their town named after them is pretty amusing because one of the band's albums was called 2300 Jackson Street. Ironically, it was one of the last albums before the band disbanded for good.
  • The Woobie: Michael. Come on, he's just so cute in this show, just as he was when he was that age in real life!
