YMMV / The Fruitties

  • Cult Classic: Very fondly remembered by the Spaniards who watched it in their childhood.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Whenever the show is discussed in Spain, Roly (known as Gazpacho in the original Spanish version) will usually be brought up as the show's most memorable character, mostly due to his thick Andalusian (southern Spanish) accent.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Outside of Spain, it is also quite well remembered in Malaysia to the point where a mockbuster was created several years after the show’s run on Malaysian TV ended.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • Padding: A lot. There's as much padding in this show as there is recycled animation, and most of the padding is prolonged scenes of said recycled animation. The show also likes to reuse its songs quite a bit, with the most egregious example possibly being Monkus's theme, as it's literally nothing but Monkus and his gorilla minion dancing around for a couple of minutes. No lyrics or anything, just dancing.
  • So Bad, It's Good: Granted, it is made by D'Ocon Films, who are infamous for most of their cartoons having low production values, but that doesn't mean it can't make for some unintentional laughs. In fact, assuming you're into constantly recycled animation, bad puns and other lame jokes, and the occasional incorrect English grammar in the English-dubbed songs, it's quite the opposite.
  • Values Resonance: The chorus of the opening song feels poignant in The New '20s as a celebration of diversity.
We are white and we are green,
    We are black and yellow,
    We are different (Oh yeah!),
    We are all together!
