Trivia / The Fruitties

  • Adored by the Network: The UK feed of Cartoon Network loved to air nothing but this show and Blinky Bill on weekday mornings until noon from the mid 90's to the mid 2000's.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Numerous standalone episodes were released on VHS in the UK, and two DVD box sets exist that cover the first 78 episodes. However, for whatever reason, the final 13 episodes never got released on either format, and the already-existing videocassettes and DVDs have fallen out of print. D'Ocon has released episodes on YouTube occasionally, at the very least, and the first 13 episodes are available on Amazon Prime Video in some regions.
  • Mockbuster: As noted, the show was popular enough in Malaysia that it resulted in a locally produced knockoff called Frootees.
  • No Export for You: The show was never released in literally any non-European countrynote . This is made more unusual by the fact that the show was actually popular in Europe when it aired, which would usually warrant more releases outside of the continent. Yes, this means that the show's English dub only ever got released in the UK and Ireland.
    • Inverted for Malaysia however, in that it was at one point aired in English in the early 90s. Apparently it was popular enough to result in a locally produced Mockbuster.
  • The Other Darrin: Every characters' voice actors were changed after the first 26 episodes. This is particularly noticeable with Roly, who loses his Andalusian accent when he switches voice actors.
