Fridge Brilliance: In the second episode, it's revealed that the alien infiltrator Chad can only speak in Matthew McConaughey quotes. This explains why he never addresses his fellow crew members by name and why everything he says is a non-sequitur.
Harsher in Hindsight: In the episode "Ted Talks", Zalian remarks, "Ladies. One of my two favorite genders." This was a harmless joke in 2015 when people commonly identified as only two genders, but as further gender options have become prevalent in the years since, the joke can now be perceived as discriminatory.
