- Esoteric Happy Ending: Not that the ending is all that happy, but at the end of the Crimson Crown storyline, the short-sighted Doctor Strange leaves Hawkeye behind after the latter saves the day, all so he can get credit for it. Unfortunately Hawkeye has no way of getting home... except an Artifact of Doom that would let him easily get revenge on everyone.
- Harsher in Hindsight: When Hulk was going on a date with Betty Ross, her father ordered a Hulkbuster robot to follow them and make sure he didn't "try anything funny." to which the robot replies with "You mean like Bill Cosby?" This was several years before the rape allegations against Cosby.
- Spiritual Successor: The comic is this to The Superhero Squad Show. However, Mini Marvels is still an ongoing series.
- Wangst: in "Principal Stanley", the aspect of the superheroes being... well, kids is - for once - deconstructed and, therefore, all the crap Spidey has been put through is Played for Drama when he and the titular principal Stanley (that is, Stan Lee doing some Adam Westing) start talking about the former's issues. Then, for some added "You Bastard!" value, when Spidey asks "Who decided this should happen to me?", we see Stanley looking visibly, nervously awkward and tugging his collar.
