- The comics will occasionally make some very dark jokes about events from the main Marvel Universe, including ones the reader will not understand if they don't know what is being referred to. For instance, Harry Osborn in his Green Goblin outfit inviting Gwen Stacy to a picnic... on the George Washington Bridge. And that was the last time Gwen was ever seen in the strips...
