YMMV / Intertwined (2021)

  • Base-Breaking Character:
    • Caterina is either a Jerk with a Heart of Gold who was misunderstood by her own mother and almost deprived of her own dreams or just a stubborn person who actually never listens to her daughter's wishes for once.
    • Félix is beloved for being a cinema geek and a supportive friend to Allegra, or just a Green-Eyed Monster who hates the idea of Marco and Allegra as a couple.
  • Catharsis Factor: Although it results in a Heel Realization, Caterina calling out Cocó for her controlling attitude and pointing out each of her negative flaws is just very satisfying to see for everything she had put her daughter through.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Fans who watched the series prefer Mallegra (Marco/Allegra) together. On the other hand, they think Fellegra (Félix/Allegra) are just Better as Friends.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Many fans who watched Violetta compare the caring Caterina (played by Clara Alonso), Allegra's mother, to the overprotective Germán (played by Diego Ramos), Violetta's father, because both of them are against their daughters' passions, albeit for very different reasons. What makes it funnier is that the actors' characters from the other series were undeniably in love with each other in spite of all their disagreements.
    • Allegra and Alan don't get quite along. However, their actors Carolina Domenech and Simón Hempe used to date in real life.
  • It Was His Sled: The season 2 trailer confirms that Cocó did burn the theater back in 1994 and that Tomás was actually framed. Or so we think. Turns out that Pedro was the one who burnt the theater and he was framing Coco.
  • Jerkass Woobie:
    • Sofía, whose mother Greta is pushing her a lot to give out an impressive performance for the upcoming auditions. She feels a lot of insecurities and fears that she will let her mother down if she fails to be like her.
    • Caterina is also one herself due to her relationship with Cocó and forbidding Allegra from going to Eleven O'Clock because of it. (see Unintentionally Sympathetic below).
    • Franco, who was once a decent person with high hopes to create the project of his dreams. However, all of that never came to fruition after his wife Paloma's death, and has ever since become a serious no-nonsense businessman and forces his son Marco into a career he doesn't like. He was also once friends with Cocó, but she left to pursue her dreams. If that wasn't bad enough, Franco supposedly lost his son after they had a horrible fight and blamed both himself and Cocó. Poor guy. Luckily, he gets better.
  • Reality Subtext: The series' storyline is related to how some of the young actors' parents, Kevsho, El Purre and Emilia Mernes, were initially skeptical to their desires of becoming actors.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: We're initially supposed to see Caterina as selfish and being completely in the wrong for refusing to allow Allegra to enter the Eleven O'Clock academy and live her dream of doing the Freaky Friday lead role that made Cocó, her grandmother whom she really looked up to due to her becoming a well-respected legend of musical theater. However, the more we know about Caterina's past, the more we start to understand her motives. Caterina wasn't really interested in becoming an actress in the first place and would instead choose to become a writer as she learned poetry from her heartwarming grandmother, Lucía. Nevertheless, Caterina's relationship with Cocó was really estranged due to the latter forcing her own daughter to a life she didn't want to just to feed her own ego. In addition, since Allegra was kept in the dark about this, she was understandably in her right to complain that Caterina never lets her do what she wants until Allegra, thanks to the time-travel bracelet, is finally made aware of this, now realizing that her mother was only trying to protect her because Cocó would only prioritize her career over her family. And Caterina is supposed to be painted as the bad guy in this whole debacle?
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic:
    • Allegra in Episode 5. After 1994 Caterina tells her about her plans to quit Eleven O'Clock and become a writer, Allegra does the unthinkable to prevent this from happening so that she (Caterina) in 2021 can allow Allegra to attend the company. Allegra not only tries and fails to sabotage Caterina's latest work, but also unknowingly feeds her to the wolves by spilling the beans to Cocó, who bribes the person in charge of the workshop into rejecting Caterina, who feels betrayed that Allegra could do such thing to her because Cocó solely cares more about the Sharp legacy rather than her daughter's happiness.
    • Diego in 1994 isn't that innocent here with Marco or his girlfriend Caterina either. 1) Cocó gives the role of the male lead character from the Freaky Friday musical to him, and Diego immediately agrees to it without considering how Marco would feel about it, all of this because he could be closer to Caterina, who is leaving Eleven O'Clock to focus on the writing workshop while Diego and company are to go on tour after the night premiere. However, this is made worse by the fact that, not only Cocó does this change because of the supposed tension between Marco and Allegra, the latter of whom unintentionally caused this for being distracted, but also uses his relationship with Caterina to her own advantage by manipulating Diego into asking Caterina back into the play, only for her to see through the ruse and break up with Diego as a result. Marco is also upset at Diego that the quits the band when he won't respect his wishes of trying something new when offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by a record deal. 2) When Marco's father finds out what his son has been up to for the past couple of days and disowns him, he begs Diego (off-screen) to let him crash in the record store, but is turned away as Diego states to the panicked Allegra when asking for his whereabouts. Diego also refuses to acknowledge that he did anything wrong when he angrily says that he's fed up with Marco's attitude. With that in mind, Marco ultimately chooses to sleep in his secret hiding, using his walkman as solace, which would lead to his apparent fate.
    • Félix becomes unlikeable in the second season due to his suddenly changed attitude when Marco comes to 2021. While his anger is totally reasonable, that didn't give him the right to lie to his best friend Allegra, who genuinely wants to help him. It didn't help that he also stopped helping Marco after learning that he could stay after completing his mission, to the point that Allegra ends their friendship when she finds out.
  • The Woobie:
    • Marco likes acting, but also has aspirations of becoming a musician in the future, yet his stern father Franco has other plans for him, not even bothering to listen to one of his latest songs or taking in consideration what he truly wants.
    • Bárbara when her father Tomás is killed in the fire that ocurred at the theater in 1994.
    • Lucía. While travelling to 1869, she met and fell in love with a man named Eusebio, only for him to die when she tried to take him with her in an attempt to challenge the bracelet.
