Toadal Drama Island is a sprite animated Affectionate Parody where Total Drama meets Super Mario Bros.. The idea was first sprung up by Tyler Donnay, formerly Ilvgwebmaster and now known as the Retro Architect, and his friend Wyatt, Emoevan 7, as a spin-off to their other parody show, The Toad Show.The 1st season Toadal Drama Island, (later called recut) features 26 contestants battling for one million coins. The show only ran for 9 episodes before being cancelled.
However, the show was Un-Canceled by Tyler, who attempted to remake it in Garry's Mod, spawning the second season. Feautring most of the original 26 contestants except for Toadsworth and E-Gadd, replacing them with Diddy Kong and Sheldon. After a year in Development Hell, the show ended due to personal problems within the cast. Most of the from the aforementioned reboot are lifted from scripts posted on FanFiction.Net.
The show has currently been dusted off yet again, now with Kyle Lazorko at the helm for the third (officially first) season Toadal Drama Island Returns. The original creator and former actors reappeared yet again for this installment. This season feautured 11 old contestants competing with 9 new ones for the 1 million coins. This season actually finished, having 17 episodes and a special.
The most recent season, Toadal Drama World Cruise feautures 6 contestants from returns, 7 from recut, and 3 all new contestants travelling around the world for 1 million coins. 9 contestants were chosen by the viewers, with the other 7 chosen by the producers. This season only has 3 episodes so far, with a total of 14 planned.

Tropes:
- Abhorrent Admirer: Every season Birdo is this to Yoshi, so much to the point that Yoshi's entire personality is his fear of Birdo.
- Though the lost scripts of the reboot attempt to establish Yoshi's Big Eater character after Birdo's Elimination.
- Big Eater: Petey, Bowser, and Morton. Yoshi as well in Episode 9 of the Original and after Birdo's Elimination as previously mentioned.
- Butt-Monkey: Donkey Kong is the literal butt monkey. He constantly gets killed in every scene he appears and cannot get a break.
- Death Is Cheap: No one is safe from death, however, rarely is anyone Killed Off for Real.
- The Ditz: Petey and Daisy are easily the dimmest of all the characters. However, Bowser does have his moments as well.
- Iron Butt-Monkey: Constantly being resurrected for more slapsticky deaths, Donkey Kong cannot seem to stay dead for too long.
- Karma Houdini: Considering the first two show's early cancellations, Mario has never received his comeuppance.
- However in Island Returns, he finally does, placing 13/20.

Ensemble Dark Horse: Despite being eliminated quite early, Morton, Bowser Jr., and to a lesser extent Toadsworth have all been very well received by the audience. - We Hardly Knew Ye: BJ, Birdo, Toadsworth, and E. Gadd were mostly static characters.
- Big Bad: In the Special, Toadette becomes this after being left out of the season. Mario again returns as the principal antagonist, however he is much more subtle this time around.

Un-Canceled: In-Verse as well, the plot of the pilot is actually un-canceling the original show. That went well...

- Birdo is once again this to Yoshi.
- Bowser is this to Peach for the first half of the season.
- All Girls Want Bad Boys:
- Despite Bowser constantly kidnapping her, Peach eventually falls for her him and the 2 become a couple.
- All for Nothing:
- Despite winning the season, Boo never receives her money, instead an IOU.
- All or Nothing:
- Toadal Drama apparently operates on this principle, as there is no mention of runner-ups receiving any compensation. And even the winner is not guaranteed to retain their winnings.
- Beauty, Brains, and Brawn: The females of the Jolly Rogers have: Mona (beauty), Goombella (brains), and Peach (brawns).
